Hi..
My desperation has taken a new kind of form! I've applied for two different jobs, both of them were apparently taken aback by me, but did not have a place to give me anymore.. I was completely unsuccessful in the sales. Nor is luck on my side for the competitions.
I was meant to go to Glastonbury with my boyfriend, as we've been trying to go together for the past 2 years with no avail. As it stands now, I won't see him for another 2 months because this plan is failing miserable (and I last saw him in early March, how's that for tugging on your heart strings?!)
I'm apparently not too proud to beg. Any one got any suggestions on how to get a ticket?

my fingers and toes ate crossed that something will come in.... if I've not had any luck by mid next week then it could over for 2 years : (
Again, I know the risks involved but does anyone if you travelled down, if anybody would be selling tickets outside?

I would be asking the same question, but not sure if I'm willing on travelling from Finland just to be rejected at the gate!!

Very unlikely as you can't get in to the car park without a ticket.
Could try the train station - but not sure people will even bring them.

While I'm at it, does any one know of more competitions? God knows I've entered too many, but it's worth another shot, I suppose! Constant vigilance and such. haha

Are you SIA registered?
It may be worth trying to put your name down with some of the security firms as a back up incase someone pulls out. REALLY unlikely but desperation calls and all that.
I don't think the hanging around for a ticket at the station or the gate will be fruitful, this generally doesn't happen and I think if anyone was to try they would be spotted and pulled.
A friend of mine emailed all the smaller bands one year asking ALL of them if she could go with them as a dancer! It worked one year but she did have to pay THEM! Could be fun if it works for you.
Good luck x x

I'm not even entirely sure what SIA is, so I think it's safe to say that no, I am not
How can I register?
Maybe I should start emailing lesser known bands then..

Has any of you ever gone with someone else's ticket btw? I want to know how strict it is.. I made a phone call to see tickets not too long ago, and they recommended a few sites which they support where people can sell their tickets. But I don't think Glastonbury ticketing itself is involved in this..

Yeah you can.. I've never had a problem getting in the carpark without a ticket.. I just tell them I'm working and picking up my ticket at the gate from my employer who is coming out to meet me.. Pick a random stall name, they don't know anyway.. If you haven't got a carpark pass they'll sell you one, usually a tenner although I hear they've gone up.. My other favourite tactic is saying 'That guy back there said it'd be ok..' You can always wave at the person you talked to further back and they'll cheerily wave too..
