I recently got a day ticket for sonisphere on the sunday , im 14 and my friend im going with is 16. We knew there was an age restriction so i have got a close family friend over the age of 18 to meet us at the gates in the morning (he's going everyday and not camping so he would already have a wrist band etc) he is going to stay with us all day. I was just wondering since he isnt my legal guardian or my parent that they would accept this, and if not do i need parental consent?
Anything on sonisphere age restrictions would be much appreciated.

Taken from Sonisphere website
Age Restrictions
Anyone who is under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. ID will be checked.
You will not be allowed to bring alcohol into the festival unless you are 18 or over. If you cannot prove your age you will be asked to surrender the alcohol at the entrance or be refused entry.
The bars operate a strict “Challenge 25” scheme. If you appear to be 25 or under you will be asked for ID to prove that you are 18 or over. You will only need to do this once as the bar staff will then give you a wristband that you can show for the remainder of the weekend. We recommend that you lock away your ID once you have done this.
Accepted ID is a passport, driving license (with photo) or the government’s proof of age scheme card – www.pass-scheme.org.uk
I'm taking my 16 year old nephew but won't be staying with him all day, I think it's just to make sure there isn't large groups of unruly teenagers making the place untidy (that's what us 30+ are for)

surely if you take letter from mum saying you are this persons care for the day you can always put it in the bin if you dont need it......that said not being a group of 50 of you things should be OK

sorry for the late reply but thanks for all the help
got in just fine, and had a brilliant time
but i have a different situation now. next year at soni i will be 8 days away from being sixteen and my mate will be 17. im constantly getting mistaken for an 18 year old but im just concerned they will ID me anyway and refuse entry just because i will be on the cusp. will they be leanient?
