This still makes me very concerned of the high levels of annoyance that could occur when GFL decides what is 'too busy'.
'You will be held in Glebeland'? Not anyone's idea of a fun night out is it?
I understand the safety on this but there is enough space for everyone. I never once felt it was overcrowded especially when they shut the gates last year. There was plenty of space in areas other than Arcadia but it just went into lockdown. Also if they didn't have The Hub so close to the alleyways for states there wouldn't be such a squeeze in SL. Thats an insane and a bit scary bottleneck when a 'special guest' is on at 2am.
With Arcadia being in the huge field that was The Common last year, this may make a lot of difference (hopefully).
Is there any indication that this Glebeland walkway will be open pre One way system open times to possibly mooch down it to get an idea of the length and width and therefore pre-empt what it could be like?

Isn't that the point of this system though? With one entrance and three exits they can track exactly how many people are in the area. So if there are bottlenecks they can try and move people on, rather than getting to that situation where it just looks dangerously crowded 'cause Lady Gaga turned up.
Am also glad they're mentioning all the alternate possibilities for stuff on that page.

You are free to *leave* Glebeland. You don't *have* to hang around there.

*nods* it was weirdly quiet at the Stone Circle at some points last year (apart from the bloody whoooosh of nitrous, of course
). Not as much partying, fewer poi and less general larking about. Sad, really. I did go to Arcadia and stuff, but the carbon footprint of all the flames and lights worried me...
I might just stick to the Bimble Inn this year...

Haha, the wording "you will be held in Glebeland", makes it sound like we've attempted a coup in some unheard of Saharan country, and got caught.

I might join you in the Bimble Inn! Do they do any nice ciders?

I'm just thinking that there was always a lot of traffic that way from the Pyramid to get to East Camper vans. That tended to be one group. And of course the late nighters head up to the railroad trail to get to that side of the site. So by doing this they will be merging two large flows of people that in the past were moving in different directions. Have they really thought this through?
I think even if I feel like having an early nigh I will have to stay out for an hour or so to avoid the mad traffic. Not a bad thing really.

Wicked, I'll see you there! TBH with the exception of Brothers, I'm an ale drinker, so I've not really noticed if they do a range of ciders - they'll have at least one though, along with cocktails, nice wine, good ale and some fab acoustic acts. I wish the Bimble Inn was in my home town - I'd go every Saturday night!

Given the state of the railway track at times last year I can see the sense in this from a crowd safety angle. I can't however see how they can possibly police the "too full" aspect, especially with 3 exits. It's such a big area with many nooks/crannies so who and how do you judge this?
Ah well, Saturday I have no headliners to care about so I'll hit it early then and see what happens.

Really... hadn't noticed that on the maps. Be interesting to see how that works. As I said, just another good reason not to call it an early night. Nothing wrong with that.

wanna be in the underground friday and the hub saturday so just gonna leave the headliners early to get down there i guess. if not tbh there seems like loads to do otherwise, not exactly the be all and end all of the night, just go somewhere else or sit around with your mates getting pissed like every other festival!
