Four of us are aiming to arrive around 4am Wednesday. Would it be acceptable for us all to join the queue with all our gear sometime after this but then two return to the car for a quick kip?  Coming back in an hour or so to allow the first two to head off and do the same?

Or would this be considered bad form do you think?  Never driven down before gates open before

Thanks

If, on return from the vehicle you have to shove through 3000 people to get to them - bad form.  If not?  Probably no one would complain.

Why do you want to be standing in the queue for 4 hours before the gates even open?

Hmm, good point - wouldn't want to wake up and discover that my tent (and sherpa, sorry, boyfriend) were no longer accessible

Thanks, sounds like early on us drivers might be able to get a little shut eye then, with an alarm call from the passengers when things start to get busy

Cheers

Yep, depends on which gate you are aiming for , easy do-able on gate C where you are not penned in along a corridor, just make sure you have everything with you on the first trip as otherwise people will assume you're queue jumping.

Funkydenz, I absolutely dont! But am assuming that the queue will start to grow at some point before gates opening, and having driven through the night it would be a bit of a waste not to join it

King Kong, cheers, that's useful practical info - we'll be a or d (personally hoping to avoid d after being in the 'wrong' queue for it last year!)

If there are still a couple of friends in the queue then they could get in early and set up the tents.  The drivers could sleep in the cars till mid afternoon knowing that they have a reserved pitch and no kit to carry in the queue.

The two early queuers could even take just enough kit to set up the pitch and the drivers could carry their kit in much later to the pre-reserved pitch.  No need for them to rush at all.

Interesting idea mike - question is, do I trust the pair of them to find a good pitch and put our tents up?!

Sadly, not sure I'd be able to sleep through the excitement of the first morning of glastonbury either - looks like we'll be stood in that queue at some point!
