Anyone have any idea what they'll be like this year? Would really appreciate having fabric ones as I thought the plastic ones were pretty crappy. Mine kinda snapped on the Sunday as well!

Yeah 100% be plastic... A couple of years ago they used the Rockness VIP bands as a backstage pass for Bella, but mine had already fallen off. So I'm guessing that they keep them plastic just in case they need to do that again?

Can't see it being fabric anytime soon, which is a shame.

Would it cost that much more for them to ditch the plastic?

If belladrum can do fabric I don't see how rockness can't.

Crowdsurfing last year at Fatboy Slim, it wasn't until we were leaving the arena that I realised mine had fallen off. I think the stewards that were grabbing people who were crowdsufing were ripping them off. Cause me and my other mate who was crowdsurfing both lost our bands.
I'll try my best this year not to crowdsurf but if I do I'll be keeping an eye to see if the stewards are pulling them off people's wrists.

The plastic ones are so irritating. It's a pity they won't be fabric anytime soon.

Yeah the plastic ones are shit. They aren't very comfy and fall off a lot easier. Read a few stories on here about people's bands falling off but seems like the stewards aren't complete arseholes when it comes to letting you in and out the campsite.

I'm sure this was discussed with Jim last year and the reason given was purely cost. Was some figure way higher than what you would think, something like £25000 as Gothenburg has mentioned.

Festivals little and small have fabric ones yet they manage to fund them, Rockness has no excuse.
Saying that makes little difference to my weekend, I just prefer fabric ones. Whatever the material it goes straight into the bin by the time I leave the gate!

I suppose that's fair enough then. I had no idea it would cost quite as much as that.

Whether the wristbands are fabric or plastic makes absolutely no difference to me. If you lose your band and still have your ticket they will give you a replacement band without any hassle.
Anyone looking for a fabric wristband so they can wear it all year like a teg really wants to grow up!!
