Really felt upset when I heard this on the radio this morning, awful sad. He was a genius and a lovely man. I'm so glad I managed to see him last year after missing him through cancelled gigs years ago. He was fantastic. Loads of stuff to listen to - some of my favourite songs The Bottle, Johannesburg, Angel Dust, Winter in America, We Almost Lost Detroit. And the album last year was brilliant, he hadn't lost it.
Flippin eck they're all going, I'm feeling my age this morning!
RIP Gil.

RIP GSH. I lit one of his gigs in Glasgow back in the 90s, it was an amazing intimate show for about 300 and will forever be in my mind.
