The wednesday night cheers, rippling accross the site in a mexican wave of excitement and anticipation always makes me stand still and take in the awesomeness.

And the first Pie minister and brothers cider.. :-)

AND the first view of the site from the stone circle.. don't think there's anything more beautiful than the festival at night from up there..

Ahhh.. so excited :-)

I don't know what the moment will be in advance, but it's the moment that makes me cry.

2008 - seeing my first act on the Pyramid Stage after watching the festival on TV since I was a child with my dad.
2009 - my partner accepting my Marriage proposal at the Stone Circle midnight Wednesday.
2010 - Stevie Wonder singing and bringing my thoughts to my Grandad, who had passed away 10 days before the festival.
2011 - ???? I'll let you know in five weeks.

When the tent is up, bedding sorted (so I can just fall in it) and time no longer matters for some days... followed by a soothing beer and probable additional relaxant.

Already looking forward to curried goat too  B)

The camp is set up, 'Black wednesday' is done.... sat with friends, and it starts - in the distance its a quiet hum, til it reaches closer and suddenly everyone around you is cheering & smiling. Tinny and a fag, sat in the evening sun. 5 days of all sorts of magic ahead.

There are so many incredible moments in life - but that one is just a different kind of special.

Spot on.  First time I ever heard that cheers all the hairs stood up on the back of my neck.  I think that the Glastonbury camping areas is much like a doughnut really amplifies it.

(btw, Birmingham Blitzdames FTW  ;) )

For me, when your watching a headliner, there's flashing lights all around, everyones crammed in like sardines, you and everyone around you have their hands in the air singing their hearts out and you think to yourself "I don't want to be anywhere else but here right now"

No doubt on this one for me.  (Assuming the weather has stayed dry) It's Wednesday evening, when your tent is up, you're organised, and you're sitting on a patch of clean, dry grass with a can.  It's sunny and the end of the festival still feels years away.  Good times.

Yep, One edit. 'Can...of Pimms'. Girly and a bit posh, I know. But I loves it!
PS...I'm really not posh  ;)

Being carried by sedan chair into my Bedouin tent at Camp Kerala, eating peeled grapes and watching the BBC coverage on the 52" plasma in the toilet (flushing of course).

I think this thread is a good illustration that anticipation is the sweetest thing of all.

It's not that we don't enjoy the great music, sights and events; it's that we KNOW that looking forward to just them will be the most wonderful feeling there is.

It's that first real glimpse of the site. I remember the first time I went coming over the brow of the hill and being blown away by the colours, the sounds, the smells, the excitement and anticipation and the fact that absolutely everybody is in exactly the same awesome mood.

This year it will be the look on my first timer friend's face as she has absolutely no idea what she's in for.

Although I have to say that the moment I got through to a purchase window back in October after 3 and a half hours of hitting refresh was pretty damn special.

'That one moment you look forward to more than any other'

For me (especially after the five hour trek from car to camp last year) it has to be when the tent is finally pitched, stuff is all sorted, and you can finally take a deep breath, have a good look around you, get your bearings and then head off for the first proper bimble of the week - pure joy  :D

If I close my eye's and focus, I can almost feel the heat from last year, smell the long drops (which oddly enough never turn my stomach, they just confirm that I am truly finally there!), hear the buzz of distance and near music, folk talking/laughing/singing and wish that the 25 sleeps left would bloomin' well hurry up!!!

Peace x

Getting through the gates and putting that wrist band on, then i realise that i have left behind the outside world and all its problems, if even only for five days!
