other than putting your tent up?
Think I'll have a nap as I'm leaving at 5am... then I'll wake up and crack open a tinny and run around exploring and squealing with delight. I'M SO EXCITED... and then watch the sunset from the stone circle in the evening..
my ticket is arriving today and I'm going crazy with excitement!

We're setting off hopefully at around midnight, I won't be able to sleep once I get there though, a couple of peeps in the group reckon on catching a power nap, so after I've finished superglueing the zip on their tents,
we'll probably just have a group huddle, pick a direction and walk around for a bit, try and get our bearings on what's where, maybe sample some food and drink on the way. Having never been before I don't know how "open" the site on the wednesday.

Is this even possible just after arriving? I'm not the best sleeper at the best of times but doubt i could nod off after i've psyched myself up for a couple of weeks
I will be unstashing the stash, making a nice j, opening a cider and heading off for a wander

I put up my tent, it's a pop up so it takes seconds, kiss the ground, crack open a can and breathe, then I just sit and take it all in for about 20 minutes. Then I party!
It's generally straight to Brothers for a cheeky pear and peruse the guide, unless there is something on that I want to see straghtaway. I can never get there 'til Friday because of my job.

Although I am also a local so if I can I will pop on site Wednesday to put up the tent, saves the Friday hassle.

Open a beer while putting the tent up then roll a j and go for a wonder round the site with a stop off at a bar or two

Its all pretty much open - though they still tend to be putting the finishing touches to the late night areas - so they aren't necessarily so. You'll have a blinder. x

I'm giving some thought to pitching the tent on Wednesday, as i can't get time off work, and would not really be able to get there till at the earliest 6pm on Friday, don' think i could face the long walk to camping ground. The tent should be safe as i have friends going on the Tuesday so they would keep an eye on it. Can't ask them to take it as they live some 190 miles from me I did do this some three years back, and while i did leave for the site at 7am, it took me 4 + hours to drive the 25 miles from my home and i only just got back in time for work,so fingers crossed its the same this year.

I have done it in the past and it has all been fine. I just make sure I set up my tent near security, I also take up my clothes etc, but never the beer!
and chat to the neighbours and ask them to keep an eye out.
There are a few of us that try to do the same thing so there is generally 4 empty tents in one spot from Wednesday 'til Friday. We also don't get on site 'til about 6pm, that Friday at work is a killer isn't it!
As for leaving, unfortunately we tend to leave the site about 11pm on the Sunday and it's not a problem, leave it 'til midnight and you end up sat in a queue 'til 6am and then have to work with no sleep.
Good luck to you as well! My big G excitement has kicked in biig time this morning.

You people who can't get there til friday have my utmost sympathy. It must be pretty hard knowing all that partying is going on so close and you can't join in.

Yep it is hard but then we are lucky that we live so close so we can actually get there I guess. I spend the whole day watching the webcam, listening to the radio and generally not doing what I am supposed to be doing. As I keep telling my boss, it is a waste of time me being there and he should just let me go, but he just laughs at me.
To be fair I am a teacher so it's not like he can just let me go and leave 30 10 year olds to teach themselves.
