To be fair, you can break a leg in a town centre.

You sure can!

Was just wondering what was best as don't fancy being legless at Gasto again and not in the good way!

The mud is Clay and not mud as we know it! It doesn't give when you slip and fall to the right to then be presented with a broken leg!

So just wondered what the best footwear was is, if there is a good sort of footwear! But as someone else mentioned a million feet gives a million different answers!

Addendum:

Last year I wore these, with some Docs in reserve in case the weather turned.

The picture is of them new, but for Glastonbury the soles on this pair were worn to practically nothing. They were perfect for the whole of the site, *except* the railway track wasn't much fun.

They do say certain people have a higher pain threshold.

The path at the top of Pennards near the entrance to the Stone Circle had some pretty chunky hardcore on it last year.

I wear hiking boots with over ankle height,  gives more support and can be worn in fairly wet weather with gaitors for mud; hedge my bets -
You won't feel it until festival proper starts - more walking stage to stage, more standing will get uncomfortable - I found that apart from the metal grid walkways its pretty rough on the feet along the paths

Me too, have always gone with good boots and gaitors for bad weather, always served me well

Same with the paths from the coach stop to the entrance (though as of last year, those are inside the fence).
