Bit boring but what's the best footwear to be walking about in?
Having broke my leg in 08 between the other stage and Dance Village entrance, wearing wellies on the Fri night half drunk is an experience I don't fancy repeating, So i've upgraded to hunter wellies which worked a treat at Bestival along with trainers during the dry weather, but as Glasto is a million times bigger....
Just wondering if something like these http://www.millets.c...tribute=3683470 will be good for the dry weather wondering about?
Any advice will be greatly received
Many thanks

Both the visual impression and the brief description would seem to indicate that they would be idea for dry weather walking about. I'm sure I have seen a post or two from people advising against wearing trainers because of the often difficult terrain at Glasto - the soles not being of sufficient design / material to absorb the shocks therefore your feet take the hit.
If you do decide to get them then do so soon so that you can 'break them in' by wearing them before Glasto and not during.

Decent walking boots with good walking socks - and break them in before the festival.

I lost one trainer on the way in last year so forced to use Hiking boots all weekend. Did good for me.

I wear hiking boots with over ankle height, gives more support and can be worn in fairly wet weather with gaitors for mud; hedge my bets -
You won't feel it until festival proper starts - more walking stage to stage, more standing will get uncomfortable - I found that apart from the metal grid walkways its pretty rough on the feet along the paths

Trainers for me, with wellies if it rains. Just bought some Muck Boot wellies on the recommendation of some people on here

I wore flip flops literally the whole time last year, should've seen the state of them at the end...
HARDCORE!
EDIT: I did however cut my foot on a can during Mumfor&Sons in the JP tent. I persevered.
EVEN MORE HARDCORE!

Trainers for me (Salomon trail running shoes), sandals if it's very hot, wellies if it rains.
Every year I've taken walking boots, but I prefer trainers if it's dry, and once the rain starts generally wellies are best.
Walking boots are good at night if it's cold though.

CROCS!!!
Had them 3 years. Wore them all the time last year and stil wearing them. They are a miracle!
Unfortunately, they are poo in the wet, as my muddy arse and back proved in the Sunday night monsoon in 2009

In dry weather, I like my walking sandals, similar to these:

Only one option in the wet, wellies.

I brought a pair of DeWalt Rigger Boots for my first glasto, and they have seen me through ever since, they are good for the dry but also fab for the wet (does not apply for this year!!!!!!) other than baby wipes it's my top pre glasto purchase!......ok Stella may be up there as well....

Boots and gaiters...not as stylish and cool as funky wellies but without doubt the most comfy/dry footwear for 5days of slogging round Glasto and I've done 17 festivals (not all in boots and gaiters I have to admit!)

Good walking boots and gaiters does it for me. Make sure that you break them in first and you will have warm dry feet whatever the weather throws at you, but then it's not going to rain so crocs will be fine!
