Seeing as they're playing the main stage this year I thought I'd widen my knowledge of them. I've had Ixnay on The Hombre since like it came out and had a Greatest Hits album of theirs for about 5 years now so I'll quite few few songs. Can anybody recommend me any other songs that they'll probably play at the festival so I can give those a listen? Thanks.
Also The Offspring, are awesome, we should discuss that.

As a fellow fan, the obvious songs they should play (if not, i'd be quite dissapointed
) are 'Come out and play', 'Gotta get away', 'Self Esteem', 'Pretty fly' and 'Want you bad'. From their recent album they'll probably play 'You're gonna go far kid' and 'Stuff is messed up'.
I'd quite like to see them play 'Bad habit', too, but there's a ton I'd like them to play but can't see it, as their set won't be that long and they're more likely to play their more known songs.
EDIT: The ones from their recent album are probably the only ones I can see them playing at the festival that weren't on the Greatest Hits.

Yeah I guess a lot of the songs they play will be on the greatest hits album - Come Out And Play, Self Esteem, Original Prankster, Kids Aren't Alright, All I want, Want You Bad, stuff like that.
And yes they are awesome. Smash and Conspiracy Of One are my favourite albums.

While on the subject of these guys, how long do you think their set would be? I'd like to see them play around 10 songs at least.

50 mins to an hour. In that spot last year Dizzy and Biffy got 50 mins while Weezer got an hour.

The Kids Aren't Alright! I forgot about that song, not listened to it for a loooooong time, it was one of my favorite ever songs a few years back.

I reckon they'll get an hour as they're similar situation to Weezer last year, as in they both are coming over to the UK just for R+L. I can't wait to see them, first band I ever saw live 7 years ago and they were unreal, they're the best booking the festival has made this year imo. Looking at their recent setlists I reckon they should play a few songs from every album since Ignition.
PS I don't have the Greatest Hits album so I don't know what stuff they've got on there.

Does anyone actually want them to play "Pretty Fly" live?
I use to love that song as a tween but so sick of hearing it now but I imagine it's a must for a festival crowd but (and this happened at least twice) I got talking to people at the festival who saw them play and didn't realise it was their song but knew of the band.

I spose I wouldn't mind. It kinda annoys me when people think that it's 'their only good song', when really, it's probably one of the ones that really wouldn't go down in my top ten of theirs. I'd like to see them play it, but I cannot stand Original Prankster, and that's coming from a huge fan, so it would be good if they played something else instead of that haha
. I can't complain though, as this will be my first time seeing them after being a fan for a while.

I've got to agree, those are two of what I'd consider their 'cheesiest' songs. There are so many songs I'd love them to play, to the extent where I think I'll end up being disappointed if I do go see them. Obviously the days of playing much off ignition, ixnay, smash, americana are gone. To be fair, they were gone when I first saw them back in 2005. That tour was awesome, 'pay the man' live!
Though I am kidding myself, will almost certainly still go down and enjoy the set. It is Offspring after all!

Conspiracy of One is my favourite album - don't know if that's frowned upon amongst fans, but it's the first one I ever had. Million Miles Away and Dammit, I Changed Again are brilliant songs.

I don't think original prankster is the sure song people think it is, they didnt play it when i saw them in 05 and that was much closer to when it was released.
