Well, it seems like the escalation process at See works.

Just out of interest, what was the tone of your emails?  I work in customer service (for shame) and would be interested to know what approach garnered the result that most companies try to avoid.

I was very nice ;-)

Said i understood they were sold out now, but that i wasnt very happy because it was a direct result of the operators mistake that i didnt have a ticket.Went on to say that i hoped that they would learn from the mistakes in future to make the system fairer. I then politely asked if, should there be any small unofficial resales, they would consider letting me know personally...

Great you've got your tickets, well done
I was pretty lucky with mine in the original sale, put them through online but didnt get past the booking page. My nephew got through to a wrong see ticket number and was put on hold after they bloke took all our details. Was cut off at one when tickets sold out. We were all pretty pissed off with no tickets. Thursday after the sale I got a call from SEE asking me if I still wanted the eight tickets "er ok" I said.,, went from hating SEE to loving them

Smelling the cider bus, tasting the brothers, and now wasting my time scouring the webcams ;-)  All things i was avoiding until yesterday....Only trouble is im now way behind in my planning in terms of uncovering some of the smaller bands and venues that id like to track down at the festival ;-p There will be some serious studying of lineups and listening to of Myspace tracks going  on in the next few weeks ;-)
