I've never been to Glastonbury before so when I managed to sort some tickets this year for the first time after trying the previous couple of years, I started asking myself some questions the main one was. I know everyone says the site is big but surely it can't be that big, then when I found this my heart skipped a beat.

http://howbigreally..../glastonbury#L1

Change the postcode and compare the size of the glastonbury site to your hometown.

Theres a yellow outline which is the outline of Glastonbury festival, and it just shows you how big it would be compared to somewhere you know.

Should be an overlay outline of glasto outline over your the maps of where you live... :P

Honnestly this makes it seem smaller to me, but that just cos I know from the two stations at either end on it I can do walk in about 25 minutes (its is how ever practically a long straight road, which glasto is not) :P

hmmm, i think actually being on site is more impressive... i remember last year walking along from the park towards the stone circle and looking across the site left me gobsmacked... i dont know if it will have the same impression this year because last year was my first year and first day haha...

of course being on site would be much more impressive than looking at a yellow outline on a map of your own town  :P

yeah but theres vast areas of nothing at burning man.. you need a bike to travel around it. almost every space/field at glasto has potential for usage at some point in the day/night
