Plus how do you get the masses to watch if he's stood by a blackboard and drawing diagrams?

If people want to moan about extravagant money spent in far flug destinations then why not include the BBC's most expensive show - Top Gear - Now there's a show that makes you think

Indeed - a right wing arse, surrounded by simpering fanboys, pissing away the worlds resources with gay abondon, and all th while  laughing at licence fee payers from inside their bloated, overpaid world of smug.

Dreadful programme, at least 5 years past its sell by date.

All good points but surely Top Gear makes money for the BBC, doesn't it? AFAIK it's a very popular export.

Maybe - but then you get into the public service v commercial operation debate.

Perhaps its natural home should be Channel 4 - a more commercial, but still funded, organisation.

Like J Ross, G Norton, A Robinson and a few others, the bbc has a legacy of "personality" talent that just seems wrong on a PSB, funded line up.

I don't begrudge them the money as such ( albeit its obscene) but I do regret the amount of lost work the bbc could do if it didn't pay 6 or 7 figure fee's to some of the "celebs".
