not that much different from a standard chair (without footrest) to be honest - barely noticable really. A few inches longer when packed in the bag.
they had self inflating air mats for Ł12.99 but I'm just not sure whether I'm ready to give up my airbed

Gonna buy one when I get there... not much more expensive, and less to carry from the car!

Any recommendations for a decent stool - I want something that won't take up too much space, can chuck it in my bag when I'm done with it, but that won't be killing me after 30 minutes?

havent seen any stools apart from those tripod ones - have you considered a shooting stick? Got one for a few quid off ebay last year, great to use for balance when ground is dodgy, open up top use as stool when want a seat. Can get away with using it in a reasonable crowd too.

Please don't sit in front of me if I'm chilling on the grass watching some band. I lost count of the number of times people parked their chairs in front of me when I was just lazing watching a stage last year.
Thought I was cursed by the chair dwellers!
And if you do decide to sit in front of me, for god's sake, don't open up your ma-hoo-ssive umbrella!!
Thanks

LOL would you like me to clear a pathway to the stage to make sure your view is completely unhindered?
Just mentioned it was usable in a crowd (and by that I don't mean a mahoosive one) as I did my ankle in just before we went last year, when you opened it up to sit on it it was basically just a ledge to perch your bum against whilst you were standing (and didn't take up any more space than someone standing either) and took some pressure off the feet IYKWIM

No worries MamaJojo - I'm sure your one of the more considerate chair dwellers
I have nothing against people using the chairs in the crowd really. It's just that I seemed to attract them all last year, and always right infront of me, like practically on my lap
PS - If you can really sort our an unhindered view, I'd be most grateful! There may even be a can of brothers in it for you!!
PPS - I had to google 'IYKWIM' cos I didn't have a clue.....IYKWIM

no problem...just thought these reclining chairs looked pretty good for camp - I remeber one person brought one in our camp in '09 and it was comedy who could get in the chair quickest when the previous occupant vacated it!!

Re weight, I saw one tripod online that had a max of 80kg - that's my weight and I'm skinny! (6ft though)
Re chairs spoiling view, I had this lots too - probably more frustrating than f***s, but at least there's possibility of having a quick word with them to move to the left or right if that's a possibility.
