The more I think about it the more I think it was a straight swap for Gorillaz. Would have been so much better that way round too as U2 were mid tour so really in their stride (though tbf they are now too) and Gorillaz would have had their tour to get their show together which they really didn't have at Glasto last year by Albarn's own admission. The music was still great though if you knew the third album well enough.

I'm so glad it ended up the way it did. I really wasn't that fussed on U2 last year (I also thought Gorrilaz were brilliant). Moz into U2 this year is going to be bloody brilliant!

Yeah that's what I think too. Gorillaz was good but it was clearly a rushed job to put together. Ah well, not going to moan- we got them both.

In seriousness, I maybe thinking its a good shout on Gorillaz but there tour has seemed to end bit to soon for that! but it would make lot of sense given how quick they got that sort of show together for glasto and I'd like to think Arcade Fire(with there comments on radio about wanting to do it but bigger acts this year)

Apparently it was going to be Radiohead vs Daft Punk feat. Prince and David Bowie, with guest appearences from Rolf Harris, Bodger and Badger, Led Zeppelin and original cast of The A-Team.
Still, a sing-a-long to 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' will be nice

Gorillaz would have had a different set because their new album has just come out. It's OK but it's not as good as Plastic Beach. So the set might not have been that great.

Gorillaz
Whenever they played they would be on an incredible show. Probably would have been better if they played this year rather than last year.... They were still getting into the swing of being a live act last year. But it all happened the way it did so not point whining about it: D

This is actually making be hopeful that Arcade Fire wanted to play it but couldn't and that therefore THEY ARE PLAYING IN 2013!!1!! (along with Bowie and Prince (together), Radiohead and Daft Punk).
I need to get off the computer.

Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire, Pulp or Radiohead I reckon. All bands I love but not really arsed that they're not playing.

I'd reckon the Foo's would have been there or there abouts.
If that's the case, I'm v glad U2 are available!
