Hi,
   At last years Glasto we were into the car parks very early on Wednesday am coming in from the south on the east side and ended up parked in E10. I am , by my very nature, not that keen on doing the trip I had to do between there are the kids field twice again.

As such, how can you end up nearer gate B i.e. E1 instead? I notice on the map that there seems to be a separate entrance road on the East side nearer the top of the map (red line) - is this also for public access?

Do you have to drive past the stewards on the main road who try to turn you off at the first entrance and carry on further north to the second?

Any advice on this would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you all

Whilst this is completely true, it is possible to influence things in East car parks.

In the 3 times I've parked in East, there have been 2 entrances to the car parks. One for traffic approaching from the north (fills car parks E1, E2 and the like) and another for those approaching from the south. I've once approached from the North, and ended up in E2. Twice from the South, first time waved into the South entrance to the car parks (e10  i think) but last year were sent further up to the North entrance. Either approach from the North on the A37, or ask the traffic stewards to let you through to that gate - they may insist you use the entrance nearer the south though.

Word of warning, both times I've gone in through ped gate B there have been horrendous queues. Last year was obviously worse for many reasons but there's a terrible bottleneck at a narrow gate through a hedge to cross the road, somewhere around 'Vehicle Gate 2' which causes a big slow moving queue to develop behind even though the ped gate itself isn't overwhelmed with people.  The second trip is even worse if there's a huge jam of people still trying to get in.

Thank you very much for the info - I thought the higher red line would be an option - good to get it confirmed,
I will have to decide better long distance and medium queue or short distance and long queue.

We came in from the North and ended up feeding into E1 - it was hell.
