Anyone else really pleased to see him?

He's playing at my local festival, Truck, so I was considering going to that for him, but he'll be perfect for Park.

I'd recommend his record The Spinning Top, and in particular this, which will be perfect as the sun goes down. It's giving me shivers already  B)

Great news!

Anyone know if he usually plays any Blur songs?

Also, if Pete Doherty isn't in prison, I could see him guesting with him!

Yeah, awesome news.

Well I saw him a couple of years ago in Cambridge and he did a few Blur songs.

But I saw him last week at the Japan Benefit gig in Brixton, and he didn't play any. He's got some new material.

But yeah, it's glasto, so he might play some crowd pleasers.

Peter may appear, think it's less likely that he'd appear in a Graham set, and would be more likely if it was the other way round, but you never know.

Anyone else hoping for a albarn /coxon set as the special guest a few slots after?
I really can't see it happening but it would be amazing!

One of my favorite heckles that I've ever heard was at a Graham Coxon gig, he came on satge and a member of the crowd shouted "Come on then Graham you f**king..... Genius!" Quality.

I saw him in 2005, no blur songs, but a beatles cover. A great solo artist, goes from nice soft songs, to punk ballads at the drop of a hat.

ALSO!
Truck festival? I love that festival! Been a good few times now, a real highlight of summer that lil festival is

I am such a fan of Coxon it is ridiculous (long-term Blur obsessive) - own quite literally everything they and he have ever done  :P in fact, may be able to dig up the thread I started in about 2008 saying how good it would be for Blur to play, before being shouted down by people who said there was virtually no chance of them ever playing together again, and certainly not for 2009

I was chuffed to see Graham on this year's line-up, and the Park is the perfect environment! I've seen him hundreds of time solo/in various projects, and he doesn't play Blur songs on the whole, apart from a phase he went through of playing You're So Great (a phase I strongly suggest he revisits!) He does do a lot of covers though, and tends to play those he sees as appropriate for various audiences, so if we're lucky we may get a new arrangement of something or other (can never tell with Coxon)  :D

He'll invariably play some new songs, which are sounding great! One that particularly stands out is called Running For Your Life... there may be live versions knocking about on youtube, I don't know... but he's back on the electric, post-Spinning Top, in which he just played the album start to finish, followed by a couple of covers, and on the November 2009 dates, renditions of Live Line and Baby, You're Out Of Your Mind - an absolute treat!

I'm glad he doesn't play Blur songs, and hope there aren't too many people that show up expecting them, and shout for them etc.-  it's very disrespectful! There are always the odd couple at his solo gigs, though that's become less frequent as his solo stuff has come to greater prominence. Now at least they shout for his past stuff (stuff like Freakin' Out on the Spinning Top tour)  :P

I love that, reminds me of John Martyn circa London Conversation. Can't wait for this now. Coxon into The Walkmen is going to be a beautiful moment.

Me and my girlfriend went to see him play in Glasgow in 09 and there were two guys in front of us who spent the whole gig talking and shouting for Blur songs. Needless to say I had a quiet word with them. Couple of c**ts.
