Replacing Q daily?
It's on the line up poster under the 'And Introducing....' section

There was something announced about Q not being a sponsor this year so they either needed to replace the Q Daily or do away with it. Good to see it will be reborn

Pleased to see they will continue the newspaper - Q Daily was starting to get a cliquey feel to it.

If that's aimed at me I think I'd say that it feels like it's being written for a select group of Glasto goers rather than the widest possible audience.
I still look read it but I always feel it could give me more. Maybe I'm the only one.

Yeah it always tended to reflect what I'd call the media image of Glasto, rather than the reality. The attempts to cover stuff away from the main stages always felt forced and awkward. Still, am curious who is doing it. And if they need writers. Hmm.

It always annoyed me with the Q Daily and to some extent the Select Daily before it. That too much of it had been written in advance, with just the leading article and a few photos added live. Also the level of advertising was starting to get way to high for my liking.
Lets hope the firelighter strikes a better balance.

Toungue in cheek attitude - I like it. Can't be Glasto mud as I'm not already stuck in it just by looking at it

But it _was_ free, how else are they expected to cover their costs? They would have had to pay GF a substantial amount for the rights to simply publish it each day as it stood,
I found this pdf on the Press GAzette site with an interview with Matt Allan who was editor of the paper (the article is 2006 not sure if he continued in that role), it might provide some insights for those wishing to rite for the Firelighter this year.

I like the way it has the advice "it's quite muddy is not an angle", on the same page as Yet Another Cliched Mud Photo.

Is it just me who thinks the typography is a little like what Radiohead like to use? Just thinking about the Universal Sigh, the newspaper Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood handed out in London earlier this year. I mean...Donwood obviously has a big connection with the festival as he has designed the official T-shirt for years...maybe he's doing the papaer too?
