When I was a student 01-04 it was £3,700 student loan per year.  £2,500 rent (because I stayed in the cheap halls.

So £1,200 for food and everything for the year

I guess I'm, er, lucky to come from a low income family so I get quite a bit of loan/grant. I do seem to be at one of the most expensive unis in the country though, my halls were the cheapest with internet and cost me £96 a week!

Its about that still if your just outside means tested. (or if your parents are split up but your dad/mum earns zillions and the other parent doesn't then you get loads of extra money to still even though your better off)
