As the topic says, looking for suggestions for a cheap , easy to use phone to take to Glasto

Just want a cheap, easy to use phone with decent battery life, don't want to have to be charging it everyday! Just want to be able to make/get calls & texts

I know there's plenty of cheap phones, but hopefully someone can tell me from personal experience of one which has decent battery life etc
thanks :)

whatever phone you buy, go on ebay and buy a couple of extra batteries for a quid or two, that way you can take them with you fully charged and won't have to spend any time at Glastonbury wasting your time charging your phone.

i've always taken old sony ericsson's to festivals, they seem to keep their battery life pretty well, especially the k800 i think...

I got one of these

http://www.carphonew...clearance=false

It came unlocked so no faffing about in that sense (I stuck the compulsory purchase £10 topup card on Ebay and got £6 back). Battery seems to last about 5 days, I'll get a spare before the Big G and it should be spot on

Great phone & has a great camera with auto focus. Can get batteries cheap off eBay too. Get them quick though as the cheap ones come from China & take ages to turn up.

I use mine with a Freeloader solar charger. You can get these cheap off eBay too.

If you want something even simpler, try eBay for a Nokia 5210...

Do you think that if Orange aren't sponsoring it this year, there'll be less transmitters/base stations etc on site? Last year the system worked really well, but in previous years, it's been terrible.

I just use my standard phone with two batteries, but I've not got a BB/iPhone or anything so I'm less fussed.

If I were you I'd just go for a classic 3310 or something. The battery life on them is incredible, I took one to Leeds a couple of years ago and didn't even need to use my spare battery over five days.

Depends if you want internet though for @GlastoLive's Twitter, which I do.

Has this been mentioned? I just assumed Orange would be there again

I used a Samsung g500/600 (can't remember  ) last year, half decent camara to but i got the text updates from glasto live and it loaded twitpic okish to, to see any pics they put out. I'd imagine picking one of those up cheap on ebay would be easy.

Probs that one, I was thinking about taking my palm pre as its be almost 2 years old and due for an upgrade in september but ..mhmm dunno might just go with that one and I'd really like to not be tempted by facebook app, although a bit of angry birds while in the long drops could be orite.

totally agree. by far the best festival phone around. i always tend to keep old phones as back up, but hardly ever do. My SE k800i is the exception. Excellent battery life (a whole glasto has never been a problem), excellent photos for a mobile. fm receiver for radio avalon, and internet access if needed.

must be able to pick them up quite cheaply i reckon
