Ok,

Tickets sorted, campervan sorted,  some interesting rumours doing the rounds... i just thought would be good to see what people see as a perfect
line up for sunday pyramid stage...

few rules -  8 artists, must be living - but could be bands that have split and could reform;  Going by last years list must include

(1) Headliner - Internationally known artist with clout
(2) Dance/ pop act
(3) Middle of the road safe act
(4) A old Legend
(5) A rock/metal artist
(6) Jazz/soul/or folk artist
(7) New up and coming band, last seen here in a tent
(8) Comedy/out of the ordinary act

I'm not going to even start the ball rolling - let me lie down and sleep on it... Its getting late and I'm starting to waffle  ;)

(1) Headliner - Internationally known artist with clout - Foo Fighters
(2) Dance/ pop act - Underworld. Hope this is the Sunday night Other Stage headliner.
(3) Middle of the road safe act - Snow Patrol - yes lots of issues but actually a bit better live than expected when I saw them.
(4) A old Legend - Meatloaf or Tears for Fears - I think these would be great for the Legends slot one year, but I wouldn't necessarily watch them.
(5) A rock/metal artist - Anything. Iron Maiden, Kiss, Saxon anyone? :)
(6) Jazz/soul/or folk artist - Brand New Heavies, Paulo Natini (have included him based on his more recent stuff which if not to everyone's taste is at least a little left of standard pap.
(7) New up and coming band, last seen here in a tent - Fookin hate watching them but Temper tits, Passion tit, other than that I don't know. Maybe I'm old.
(8) Comedy/out of the ordinary act - Bill Bailey (as discussed elsewhere on these forums) would be a great act. I really liked Tenacious D when I saw them at Leeds a few years ago.

I'd take that!

Take 5 of those no question - Prince, Kraftwerk, Tom Petty, Scorpions (hey, metal SHOULD be a little trashy) The Mighty Boosh.
Trivia time, I used to rent a house that was owned by Julian's sister.

I know this is a 'fantasy lineup', but is it supposed to have a sense of realism to it?
No offense, but i couldn't really see someone like Iron Maiden playing 5th down, or even Paolo Nutini 6th? Am pretty sure even Neil said he'd have thought about 3rd from top is about right for him. Anyways, will have a think about mine, and come back to it.  ;)

     Most posts are either people's fantasy or realistic views.  This one, I think, definitely falls in the fantasy category.

For realism here we go then:

(1) Headliner - Internationally known artist with clout - Eminem
(2) Dance/ pop act - Leftfield
(3) Middle of the road safe act - Snow Patrol - yes lots of issues but actually a bit better live than expected when I saw them.
(4) A old Legend - Burt Bacharach
(5) A rock/metal artist - Train. I don't think they're rock either, but some people do.
(6) Jazz/soul/or folk artist - Soul II Soul. I think the word soul has influenced me here.
(7) New up and coming band, last seen here in a tent - Mumford and Sons - certainly a grower career wise since last year.
(8) Comedy/out of the ordinary act - Paul f**kin' Daniels.

Is this better as far as "cascading" talent goes?

Given the constraints the OP had and some license to fantasize:

(1) Headliner - Internationally known artist with clout Pulp
(2) Dance/ pop act Beastie Boys
(3) Middle of the road safe act Paolo Nutini
(4) A old Legend Paul Weller
(5)]A rock/metal artist Bon Jovi
(6) Jazz/soul/or folk artist Adele
(7) New up and coming band, last seen here in a tent Everything Everything
(8) Comedy/out of the ordinary act The Axis of Awesome

Not bad for a semi realistic line up (The only one i'd say is not is Bon Jovi playing that low)

Fantastic line up!  This one's more realistic.  It's possible that we'd be seeing more of Bon Jovi.  Who knows?  Look at Steven Tyler on American Idol :)

Gonna do one just taking the description as is, and one with a sense of realism in brackets if the first is too unlikely!

Jason Mraz (Beyonce)
Pendulum
Adele
Elton John (Sir Cliff Richard)
Arctic Monkeys (Maximo Park)
Estelle (or Justin Nozuka)
Mumford & Sons (VV Brown)
Flight Of The Conchords

I'll do it "realistically". Really tricky to do without just picking 8 ridiculous acts.

(1) Headliner - Internationally known artist with clout - Arcade Fire/Bruce Sprinsteen
(2) Dance/ pop act - Deadmau5/Ke$ha.
(3) Middle of the road safe act - Dixie Chicks (not really safe, but I guess a lot of people would call them middle of the road).
(4) A old Legend - Van Morirson (+ The Chieftians)
(5) A rock/metal artist - P!nk (pushing it massively I know, but I wanted a dance act too). I'll go Yeah Yeah Yeahs if not allowed P!nk, although probably also pushing it.
(6) Jazz/soul/or folk artist - Adele
(7) New up and coming band, last seen here in a tent - I would say Sleigh Bells, but I think they'd be awful on Main. So Marina and the Diamonds.
(8) Comedy/out of the ordinary act - Glee Cast.
