This will also be my first visit to the festival and I couldn't be more excited.

Reading all of the stories about the secret bars, that late night areas and all of the experiences has made me really impatient and I am seriously considering copying what Cartman did in Southpark by intentionally putting myself into a coma so that I no longer have to wait.

As far as the lineup goes I will pick one banker a day and just wing it the rest of the time.

"I'm not sure it's possible to stop being able to explore the site at Glasto really. I've been going 14 years, and last year I found a new field I didn't even know existed before."

Exactly - 10 years for me and there are still places I haven't been to. Already planning to skip the major stages on Friday for a day and go off to see whats going on around the site. If you're underwhelmed by the music additions, go exploring.

Cant remember its name but the field below the acoustic field, where the theatre is, is a good place to hang out if there is nothing that grabs your attention. A couple of years ago we spent a few hours there watching all the strange goings on, like the giant dog that wees on people, the cavemen that follow people, the office worker with a speaking in his brief case etc etc, loads of fun  :)

On top of all the very good advice above it's worth saying that headliners can surprise you too. I remember, i think it was '05 when Coldplay last played and at the time I'd rather inject my ears with slurry than go and see them. But, as Glastonbury has a way of working in weird and wonderful ways, I lost all my mates and ended up bumbling through the Pyramid stage field on a mission to find them. Coldplay came on and I paused to listen to the first song and see what the fuss was about, when i looked next to me I found myself stood right next to my best mate and we ended up staying and watching the whole set.

It was possibly one of the most memorable and best live sets I've ever enjoyed, up there with Muse, Chems, XX, TDCC, Daft Punk, Faithless, Gorillaz, Stevie Wonder, Arctic Monkeys, Killers, White Stripes, Snoop Dogg, Shlomo, Hot Chip, Temper Trap, Kasabian, Bloc Party, Prodigy, Seasick Steve, Vampire Weekend, Slash, Editors, Stanton Warriors, Evil 9, Soulwax, 2manyDjs, Lily Allen, Maximo Park, Adam Freeland, Beardyman, Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, Jools Holland and Basement Jaxx + many more at glastonbury I can't really remember or never even knew who they were. :)

I keep on trying to be really positive about it though, so far Chemical Brothers, Big Boi, Jannele Monoe and Laura Marling are who Im looking forward too. Just wish I liked one of the headliners! I have everything crossed for some more good bands when the full line up is announced and hope when I get there everything Ive ever read is true :D

there are 16 acts confirmed so far, you like 4 of them. last year there were over 1000 performances. going by your ratio you will be very busy:)

As has been said above, there's also the after-hours side to Glastonbury, which is phenomenal - a real experience. You can party at any hour of the day.

Enjoy !
I imagine that our group will end up at the last pyramid slot for either Fri or Sun night. I for one, definitely want to check out Shangri-la, Arcadia, etc -  wondered would this still leave plenty of time for exploring these areas if ventured out to after the last Pyramid set has finished? Or best heading out that way when not spending time at the Pyramid/Other stages.

A good strategy can be to let the initial crowd die down and just chill for a bit, regroup, relax and then get to the late night area.  The Arcadia fire show is well worth seeing but probably you won't get to that in time leaving the pryamid with everyone else (although there's an earlier fire show also), so do that one on a more free night maybe.

Bored at Glasto = bored with life.

Regardless of line-up.
