I have no clue who he is either, but I'll keep away from him if this is the reaction he gets.

Learn something new .... Bit before my time - only really got into going to see DJs in 2005

I wouldn't actually mind one or two hard dance DJs at RockNess, not anything too hard like showtek or whatever but maybe Lisa Pin-Up, Whitby or Lashes or something, just for a bounce about for old times sake. It won't happen, and I don't particularly want it but think it would be a laugh. Would be better than Paulo anyway.

Yeah something like that would prob be better as it wouldn't attract idiots. Remember Felix Da Housecat played some old school in the Slam a few years back. Was mental!

The word 'Bowie' jumps out at you. Then you go 'Oh, George.' :(

I resented GB for years because he got a slot at the FUBAR in Stirling. He couldnt even mix the records properly back then and only got in on the back of his radio show. I had been sending the Fubar tapes for years and never got a sniff!

However, i have came to respect our George as he is a champion of the 90's rave scene, Scotlands forgotten music scene. The likes of GB and Uncle Tom Wilson stood up for the jilted generation, and im glad to have him on our airwaves.

There should be a film made, similar to 24 Hour Party People, all about the Scottish rave scene. That would be a belter of a film eh?

Even if you dont like GBs music, you have to respect his comedy, here he is as Rab Corbett from the Paisley tapes

It isn't George Bowie who does the Rab Corbett tapes, although they do have similar voices.

As for his resurrection of the 90s rave scene.....he should have left it where it was dead and buried!  You ever listened to his show at the weekend and heard the kinda chat from his average listener????

"Awrite George, gonnae geez a shout out tae the troops and stick on some Ultrasonic".......

I don't think we even have to debate the possibility of George Bowie...or Tiesto....or other ned-loving DJs ever coming to Rockness cos Jim King knows decent dance music.  ;)

you rumbled me 5head and weesteve, its not GB at all :)

the rave scene wasnt all bad, there was a golden era in the late 80s and early 90s. I my opinion, the best was past by 1994, thats when the likes of Carl Cox and the Prodigy began to move on.

Theres a cracking documentary called High on Hope, all about the beguinnings of the acid house scene. ITs not a million miles away from how the punk scene started by the way ;)
