Time for a new Kloot thread I think.

I see they are being announced for loads of summer dates, but no glastonbury rumours so far (unless I've missed something).

I thought they'd be a shoe-in this year after their fanstastic set last year and the success of Sky At Night.

I wouldnt quite know where to place them. Pyramid/Other does not suit them. Headlining JP maybe? Headlining the Park?

they were excellent in the queens last year, think a slot in the acoustic tent would suit them down to the ground, have seen them since at a few gigs round here and i know theyre playing again at the sage in may which i might try and grab a ticket for. Gotta say i preferred the glastonbury set to the one at the cluny which only holds around 250 people as the ignorant tw*ts behind us talked all the way through and even jonny kicked off with them.

sure theyll appear somewhere on the card

Headlining Park on Sunday would be perfect. Still no dates to rule them out, and there being announced for quite a few festivals so there's definitely a good chance.

I'd say they're unlikely as they're playing WOMAD.

That's not an absolute rule, but it's normally the case that bands who play WOMAD don't play Glastonbury.

Yea heard they were playing. Think Stornoway and Rolf played both last year didnt they? If Mr Eavis saw their set last year im sure he would have re-booked them as they were walking off stage...

The Set they played in the acoustic tent 2005 was incredible. Would really like to see them on the park as that would really suit their style.

Would love to have them healdining the park, but I fear that seems unlikely in the light of them being booked for WOMAD  :(

I've been told by some people* that there is or has been a block on acts booked for one appearing at the other. Some others* have said that's not true.
(* bookers, agents, festival organisers, etc).

In recent years there's defo been a bit of occasional cross-over so it does appear that that block is not absolute, at least in recent years. I've not checked back further into the past to see if it was absolute at a time in the past, tho my memories suggest that it was - but I might be wrong with that.

Going back even further into the past, WOMAD had a stage at Glastonbury for one or more years. According to what I've been told by a person who should know the ins & outs of it, it stopped having a stage there after a bit of a dispute between the guy who ran the WOMAD stage at Glasto and Glasto.

Glasto pretty much replaced the WOMAD stage with its own Jazzworld Stage, so I guess the people involved on both sides wanted their bookings to be different from the other. Whether things were ever formalised by one side or the other so that they stipulated that the acts they booked couldn't play the other I don't know, but any cross-over of acts in any year has been minimal if any cross-over has happened at all.

wow thanks for the info, that's interesting. And quite sad really that feud could last this long.

Seems there are quite a few touchy people around in this industry - lost vagueness/leftfield for example!

Well I would say get play moulah rouge straightway as it should be easy to get. My fav album is the one titled I am kloot but it used to be quite hard to get hold of.

To be honest though all their albums are ace!
