So here it is!

Me mam and sister are intending to stay in the campervan field and like last year are intending to get there early doors on Tuesday to get a spot near the entrance (they're only coming from just down the road in Langport so should be parked up by lunchtime).

I'm getting down late on the Tuesday night from London town and rather than kipping in the car I was hoping to grab some space in the campervan.

So to the crux of the matter does anyone know how easy it is to move between fields on the Tuesday night? What is security like? Will I get hassle for trying to get from my car to the campervan.

At worst I can stay at my folks place on Tuesday night then drive on over Wednesday morning but would rather be parked up and in the queue when the clock strikes 8 and the gates open.

Apologies for the rambling.

PS have noticed the balls up in the spelling of field

Last year Myself, cousin, uncle and aunt were in the campervan field on the Tuesday. My other cousin and her friend were coming down by car and were expecting to meet me then I'd take them back to the campervan. I managed to gt into the car park and meet them, but when I was heading back the same way I came security tried to stop me, saying I had walked through staff camping/car park and could be thrown out. I argued that one my way in they were fine with me etc, so they said go through at your own risk and if you get stopped and chucked out it is your own problem. We went through, no hassle and all was good.

Point is, you probably wont be allowed to.

Too be honest I can't see it being a major problem if your in East parking as you'll walk through the CV fields on your way to gate C. I guess it just depends if they let people out of the car parks to queue up at the gates like they did last year, if they do then they can't really stop you going to the CV fields.

I think the situation described above relates more to the route that they took taking them through staff parking rather than people walking to CV fields.

Thats what I thought, last year they made a right song and dance that the people arriving by car on Tuesday night would under no circumstances be allowed to leave their cars until the gates opened at 8am, looks like it wasn't enforced in anyway whatsoever..

I remember it saying on the fest's site last year that people were expected to remain in their cars until the gates opened. But I arrived at about 4am from London and there were already vast amounts of people queuing and milling around not in cars, we left out mate in the queue and wandered around past various security personnel and noone said anything..... so I wouldnt imagine it to be a problem. You may have to get your family to meet you somewhere though as they dont let you into campervan fields minus a wristband do they?

Theoretically there's no access from the car parks to the CV fields on Tuesday night but the thing seems to be to try your common sense.

Cheers for the input folks.

Reckon I'll have a crack at getting in to the CV fields.

At worst I'll have to grab a couple of hours in the car before queing up and getting some sunrise ciders down me!
