It's been very quiet as usual from the Guilfest Team since just the 3 acts (Peter Andre, Erasure & PiL) were announced. I don't understand how they expect to sell many tickets when only 5 acts are so far confirmed? I remember the excitement of the majority of festivals announcing their line ups around this time last year & not hearing anything from Guilfest. Is there a new announcement round the corner?

I've no idea if another announcement is imminent or not, but I do know that GuilFest tends to do its bookings later than just about every other fest. And despite doing that, it seems to do OK.
Having said that, I know that a part of the issue this year has been to do with the planned Friday headliner. They made an offer for a (IMO) a great act that would have gone down extremely well, and had it accepted - and then cancelled, and then accepted, and then cancelled again. The problems with that were caused by a member of that act having other things on which he couldn't make up his mind if he could work around. Ultimately, they aren't playing.
So GuilFest has had to start again with its Friday headliner. I know they had an offer out on an act, and the last I heard they were waiting for it to be accepted or for the offer to expire. Either way, until they have that Friday headline act sorted, it limits what other bookings they can make, because of issues around the costs of acts and who acts are happy to share a stage with, and even acts other acts are happy to be on the same bill as.
But they'll get sorted soon enough, and they normally manage to pull together an interesting and enjoyable mix of acts that keeps most people who are likely to go pretty happy.

I would love to be able to know who that Friday headline act was! Cheers for the heads up. The Do Or Dies look like they are playing again btw (friends band).
