Over 18 wristband is pointless. Don't bother getting one.

If yout take your ID just to show it to get the wristband then you are an idiot because if you leave your ID in your tent the rest of the weekend it is more likely to get nicked rather than have it in your wallet for the one time outta twenty you get ID'd.

Isn't it also the case that even if you're over 18 and show valid ID to get the wristband, bar staff can still ID you if they believe you're under 18?

Yes. Me and my friends has this, we went through all the 'whats the point in us queing for the wristband if your still going to id us' bullshit with the barstaff, but most of the time the answer was that they hadnt given you the wristband, therefore had not seen your id, and if you were under age, they could still get into trouble for it.

Its all a load of bollcoks, and I woudnt bother.

Last year me and my mate walked in with 2 crates of Strongbow out in the open, seeing it was my first fesitval i was clear on the rules (i was only 17)
now they've put up a new rule (don't remember it being there last year)

Quote

The following items are not allowed to be brought into the site by ticket holders:

- Any alcohol in the possession of anyone under 18

maybe their clamping down a little on riots? and chavs going around saying 'init, ya wanna go' pretending to be drunk? but i may be mistaken and it might of been there last year

yes you are correct - its due to the fact the act states ' at the point of sale ' and does not mention anything about pre checked ID.

At some events this year the bars will be asking for ID from anyone who looks under 21 and at others they will be asking for ID from anyone who looks under 25 so its only a matter of time before the age limit is raised.

-------

to deal with a few more points.

{ 1 } if you use fake ID or someone's ID this then can get you into loads of trouble and you may end up in a Police Station while the event is going on and they will be in no hurry to interview you + if you are underage they will demand that your parents are called before they start to interview you.

Make no mistake its not up to the bar staff to prove your 18 its up to you.
