Dance Stage Day Change

Heard a rumour, on here btw so god knows how valid it will be, that the dance day for Reading will be changed to the Friday as it would be odd having it clashing with 2manydjs on NME. For me this might be pivotal whether I get a weekend ticket or not as Friday night for me at the moment is a bit boring to say the least. What with Creamfields being on the Saturday & Sunday, would this mean that more acts playing their would be able to play the Friday at Reading? & yes I know there is still Leeds dance day too, but Creamfields is near Warrington/Manchester (map), so not that far away for a DJ to get his kit & get to Leeds. If a DJ really needs to take their kit as they all use Pioneer CDJs & Allen & Heath mixers, well not all but it would be easy to get the same stuff in two locations.
Early on I really thought Magnetic Man, what with being on the NME tour, would make an appearance at R+L & was looking forward to them, even though I saw them last year.
Also just remembered SW4 in London is on the Saturday & Sunday so it could also open up the possibility of a few acts playing there coming to Reading.
I know this is all hypothetical right now & still early days but I thought it might be worth having a discussion about as a few people on here have stated their dissapointment with the Friday evening & I like my dance music as much as indie/rock.

Think it'll be on the Friday too. Can see Nero playing high up too.

Id imagine it will as itd also make no sense to clash a lock up day with Fridays main either.

I hope this is the case, as this opens up possiblities for many more decent acts as you said regarding creamfields/sw4.
Also, the friday day is looking very dull for me at the moment, with only The offspring really taking my fancy.
I also love my dance music as much as indie/rock, so fingers crossed that my festival will begin with an almighty rave.

I hope so. I'd like something good to watch on Friday.

Nobody from SW4 will play because they will have to play leeds on the same day they are playing SW4 which would be impractical!

Not really, play Reading on Fri, Leeds on Sat & finally SW4 on Sun.

Makes sense, I guess. People who are into bands on the main stage on friday would likely have a lot of clashes with the lock-up.

I would be grateful if a decent dance act was clashing with MCR

I too hope this is the case. A Sunday lockup would be perfect
Although, I hope their isn't a nasty clash with Madness

Hoping for some great stuff on dance tent. Hoping for people like A-Trak, Boys noize, Simian Mobile Disco, Maybe even Groove Armada doing DJ set, etc.

I think (and sorry I can't be bothered to check) that the rumour started on here because it seemed to fit with 2Many DJs playing Sunday and Friday being a closer fit with Lockuo on the main stage rather than any actual evidence.
I don't see why it will be better for getting Creamfield acts because with the current arrangement they could do Leeds Fri, Creamfields Sat and Reading Sunday. Thats as convinient as than Reading Fri, Leeds Sat and Creamfields Sunday.

What are the chances of DJ Shadow? Touring this year and I know he's not exactly dance, but a hip hop act headlined last year!

I'd say pretty good guess with DJ shadow. Too big perhaps?

More across the lines of nero, modestep, dj fresh, joker and all the other breakthrough dubstep and d&b acts. Wouldnt be that bad, but you can see these types every weekend of the year in the uk

No doubt some Dubstep pish will headline. Wouldn't mind a few decent electro acts during the day.

In years previous most headline acts played halfway through the day which was a bit rubbish. Perhaps this way round the bigger acts will be on later like a "proper" headliner. eg Chase & Status/Deadmau5 in '09 & Magnetic Man last year.
