Posted 11 June 2012 - 03:35 PMJudging by the crowed they got at download booking them anywhere but main would just be stupid.
Posted 11 June 2012 - 03:48 PMI haven't heard about the 'No Ten D' thing sorry. (I wasn't suggesting that they'll play Festival Republic)
Posted 11 June 2012 - 06:29 PMThe facebook site said:
'News just in – Festival Republic Stage announcement coming your way next Tuesday. BOOM'
I think it's doubtful they will announced other stages but if TD are playing i think they will be announced tomorrow.I
Posted 11 June 2012 - 07:01 PMI think if Tenacious D are playing they'll be announced tomorrow, as it's the first announcement after Download, and it would be the same concept as them filling in the gaps (Los Campesinos!, Mastodon and Mark Lanegan) with the NME Stage announcement.
However, saying that, I don't think they'll play.
Edit: Didn't realise that said 'next Tuesday', and thought Vieuphoria's pot was a response to your point about Tenacious D. Anyway, that's annoying, I was looking forward to it.

Posted 11 June 2012 - 07:07 PMI don't really mind Tenacious D playing or not. It's NoFX i really want to see announced for the NME. That'd be incredible.
Posted 11 June 2012 - 07:13 PMActually, to amend ny post again, that Facebook update was from 4 days ago. So the announcement is tomorrow. Happy days.
Posted 11 June 2012 - 07:21 PMYeah I know haha. I was thinking that Facebook update was from today, so I thought the announcement had been delayed.
Posted 11 June 2012 - 07:30 PMI think we'll get one of the Download bands tomorrow. Really hoping its Ten D, I think they've got the time to have an extra band on the Kasabian day anyway...
Posted 11 June 2012 - 07:33 PMThey've definitely got room. Would be a god booking over The Vaccines, would knock them down to a more reasonable slot and would make the lineup stronger. But I honestly don't see it happening. I have no reason to believe this.
Posted 11 June 2012 - 07:36 PMAlso looking at the band's below The Vaccines on that day, I can't see Enter Shikari playing the same slot as last year after releasing a successful album. I think they're a strong 4th placed band as it is.
Posted 11 June 2012 - 07:39 PMtrue. I think it would look much more right having Vaccines below ES. At least ES have put in a shit tonne of effort to get where they are.
Posted 11 June 2012 - 07:41 PMReally hoping for Tenacious D but I can't see it. I got a bit pissed with an old school mate and missed them at Download!
Posted 11 June 2012 - 07:44 PM
true. I think it would look much more right having Vaccines below ES. At least ES have put in a shit tonne of effort to get where they are.
Definitely agree with this. I would have thought all three
4th placed bands would warrant a higher slot than The Vaccines and Bombay, despite me not liking Shikari or YM@6.
Posted 11 June 2012 - 08:03 PMTen D could be below Enter Shikari, no reason a band on in the middle of the day can't have big crowds. They can be paid just as much as those higher up but just appear earlier. The main stage doesn't have a lower capacity just cos the sun is up.
Posted 11 June 2012 - 08:07 PMwell yeah... but we're talking about a band who played 2nd last time. why are they going to drop down to 5th?
Posted 11 June 2012 - 09:38 PM
well yeah... but we're talking about a band who played 2nd last time. why are they going to drop down to 5th?
I'm sure there are bands who have made similar drops, though I admit I couldn't name you any off the top of my head. I don't actually think they are going to play, but it would be nice if they did.
Posted 11 June 2012 - 10:00 PMCouldn't Tenacious D play lower down and just have an extended set?
