Yeah I get it now, still didn't make sense at the time.

Fairplay. I guess I didn't feel the need to include american rock originally in my point as people know it's american rock headliners so I thought it'd probably be clear I was basing it off that. Obviously, rock bands in general, wherever they are from, PJ are not the biggest. Not going to say who I'd probably say has a shout for that as that'll be another debate lol.

Rolo Tomassi lead said they where going to record some new stuff, so that would be pretty cool..
They opened the NME last time they played didn't they?

I'd like to see Feed The Rhino in lock up aswell, don't know how possible that is.

I think you'd be lucky to see Marilyn Manson play R&L again nevermind subbing.

I agree about Manson.

I also think The Killers and Bloc Party subbing is way too soon again. The strokes and Pulp did the co-headline but it was 2002 since they last did. I do think Mumford could play 3rd but either under Bloc before Jay Z or under Pixies playing before The Killers.

For Foo's sub, it could be either Tenacious D, Soundgarden or even QOTSA but I don't see many others.

Neil has said about he could see FATM headlining R&L if they played it, anyone reckon there is a chance? He said it can't be ruled out for V but did agree with another than as they can get big bands for 1st and 2nd that at V Flo would probably go 2nd.

I know, just thought I'd throw something a bit unexpected out there. Needed someone that would work well before System. Also considered Rammstein and Nickelback, and also Tenacious D but then realized they would make it too similar to 2008.

Probs won't happen but it'd be awesome if Slipknot headlined. Or S.O.A.D, I reckon there's a fair chance they might :)

Slipknot or S.O.A.D (Not both)
Pendulum
A7X

Bloc Party
Dizzee Rascal
Editors

Foo Fighters
Soundgarden
Noel Gallagher

Then Mumford headlining NME opposite Slipknot/S.O.A.D? That choice would please most I reckon.

I agree on your SOAD. I think Slipknot will be back at Download the next time they play here.

Pendulum are not touring next year. I think they will be back the following year and a sub to Biffy I think is very realistic. They just headlined 2nd stage at Download, before that they had headlined nme at R&L and have played 2nd under Maiden at Soni, admittingly this was apparantly this was due to The Darkness who were planned for that spot but weren't ready didn't do it in the end.

I had trouble thinking of a heavier band to go under SOAD if they played myself but based on that lineup, A7X going 2nd and Placebo 3rd I think makes it an option too?

Yeah I thought that about download too, but then they announced their lots so I still reckon theres an outside chance of the knot. I wasn't aware of Pendulum not touring, but theyre deffo ready to sub. I don't know if a heavy band has to go under system, just a kinda crossover act who would appeal. But apart from pendulum I can't think of any big enough. Too soon for Limp Bizkit?

Ah fairplay, yes they announced earlier this year that 2012 would be a year off touring, recording a new album I guess too and all that.

Pendulum would need to at least sub main stage due to it being dark enough but I don't think headliner yet, there next album would need to be HUGE for them to get the chance of that but subbing Beyonce this year at glasto, their crowd was massive and they nailed it and that was fairly light still.

Too soon yes for Bizkit, don't see them subbing to be honest.
