Judging by the crowed they got at download booking them anywhere but main would just be stupid.

I haven't heard about the 'No Ten D' thing sorry. (I wasn't suggesting that they'll play Festival Republic)

The facebook site said:

'News just in – Festival Republic Stage announcement coming your way next Tuesday. BOOM'

I think it's doubtful they will announced other stages but if TD are playing i think they will be announced tomorrow.

I think if Tenacious D are playing they'll be announced tomorrow, as it's the first announcement after Download, and it would be the same concept as them filling in the gaps (Los Campesinos!, Mastodon and Mark Lanegan) with the NME Stage announcement.

However, saying that, I don't think they'll play.

Edit: Didn't realise that said 'next Tuesday', and thought Vieuphoria's pot was a response to your point about Tenacious D. Anyway, that's annoying, I was looking forward to it.

I don't really mind Tenacious D playing or not. It's NoFX i really want to see announced for the NME. That'd be incredible.

Actually, to amend ny post again, that Facebook update was from 4 days ago. So the announcement is tomorrow. Happy days.

Yeah I know haha. I was thinking that Facebook update was from today, so I thought the announcement had been delayed. :)

I think we'll get one of the Download bands tomorrow. Really hoping its Ten D, I think they've got the time to have an extra band on the Kasabian day anyway...

They've definitely got room. Would be a god booking over The Vaccines, would knock them down to a more reasonable slot and would make the lineup stronger. But I honestly don't see it happening. I have no reason to believe this.

Also looking at the band's below The Vaccines on that day, I can't see Enter Shikari playing the same slot as last year after releasing a successful album. I think they're a strong 4th placed band as it is.

true. I think it would look much more right having Vaccines below ES. At least ES have put in a shit tonne of effort to get where they are.

Really hoping for Tenacious D but I can't see it. I got a bit pissed with an old school mate and missed them at Download!

Ten D could be below Enter Shikari, no reason a band on in the middle of the day can't have big crowds. They can be paid just as much as those higher up but just appear earlier. The main stage doesn't have a lower capacity just cos the sun is up.

well yeah... but we're talking about a band who played 2nd last time. why are they going to drop down to 5th?

Couldn't Tenacious D play lower down and just have an extended set?

Even though it won't have any relevance to Reading because they won't play...

Tenacious D rocked Download.

Its taken me a while to find this year band who stands out the most to me at Leeds but today...Dry The River have just came out off nowhere and they are astonishing!

Cannot Wait, it was close to being The Maccabees because Given to The Wind is beautiful but Shallow Bed is the best album ive listened to this year!

Cannot wait now!

Not been on here for a while.

What are the odds of Ten D playing? Or was it Neil pulling our leg as he said they would be announced after download
