Go and try listening to "Is this it" a few times and then try saying they aren't that good.

Have done. I don't get the hype at all.

I know I made the a point in a other thread about respecting other people's musical views, but if you don't like Is This It, then I think a part of you is dead inside =/

"The Strokes are one of the most influential Guitar Bands of the last decade at the verrrrry least." - I have to say not really. Maybe if you're Two Door Cinema Club or a few more Indie bands out there.

I love Strokes but even I know that is rather ridiculous HAHAHA.

I think the Strokes are shit and were massively overhyped 10 years ago, typifying everything unholy about nu-indie; Boring, sanctimonious, uninspiring, pseudo-rockstar shite. They're like Keane, I've never unserstood what hooks people to them. Kings of leon, yes I totally get it, but the Strokes? and 10 years on?.... Huh?

That being said, I still think they're light years ahead of MCR, and I'm willing to accept that enough people like them to justify their position.

Why is that so hard to believe? not everyone proper loves the album, its okay, but whats so special about it?

I have never understood this idea that any album is so good that someone who doesnt like it can listen and magically be converted. Music is so subjective. To me the strokes are an overhyped band with mediocre songs who have got where they are due to media hype and image. On the other hand I love Razorlight first two albums, knowing that most people on here think they are the devils spawn. If bands universally love by everyone existed we would only need one stage.

Pulp are playing the Electric Picnic in Ireland a few days after.

So, it might be the last English gig of this reunion tour, which is hardly a major claim.
