Why come out and boast about exclusive headliners, when they blatently aren't? "oh but they aren't headlining anywhere else, so technically..." sod off. No other festival would pull that kind of bull.
Also, 'massive guitar bands' where'd he get from? yeah fair do's with Muse but the other two really? And he's certainly not talking about Madness!

On another note, I agree to an extent. I'm so happy to see Muse pulling off all the stops for the festival, with an exclusive set design and setlist, almost 'greatest hits' esqe. I'm sure the quality of bands will be good enough for you when you're there mate.

is there a indie/rock festival that Pulp aren't playing? tbh, the line up is decent but my musical taste pretty much overlaps exactly the sorts of bands that play - punk/indie/rock with a bit of ska/metal/dance/hip hop thrown in. pretty much can't go wrong. also, I guess I find a lot of new bands through the festival so it's self fulfilling.

The Strokes are a massive guitar band. Undisputable. MCR I can see your point, but seriously, The Strokes are one of the most influential Guitar Bands of the last decade at the verrrrry least. If they can't headline, then I honestly don't know who can.

I wish everyone would stop moaning, T & Oxegen are more poppy festivals, we will get Black Eyed Peas headlining and see if you still moan then. If people stopped obeying by what is cool or not, MCR have made some great tunes, I wont start arguing whether they're worthy because I don't care. The Strokes are as big if not bigger than the Libertines who a lot of people claimed should headline instead of Arcade Fire last year. Lastly Muse are a huge band playing nowhere else in Europe this year (I think?) whether you like them or not (I'm not too keen) you have to accept that there is only maybe Radiohead who are a bigger British festival draw than them.

Alright fine. I miscalculated with Strokes but certainly not my chem. Also Strokes aren't that good, comeon.

The lineup is pretty half assed this year, he kind of had to talk them up and bullshit a bit.
Especially since pretty much everyone who has seen MCR live has said they were shit, if they auditioned bands I'm sure they would not be headlining.
I'm going for the atmosphere and the few bands I do want to see, simple as. Realistically they were never going to top last years lineup, for me it was the best yet.

We are entitled to our own opinions just like yourself. Does it have to be two extremes? Either really poppy or what we have now? I'm having a go moreso at the bullshit that Melv came out with and the fact that alot of the bands reak of 'meh.'
