Was really pleased to see the thread about Cherry Ghost playing. Got their last album a couple of weeks ago and really liked it. Thought i'd start a general thread about new bands that you've come across - share the love and find out the chances of them playing.

So The Besnard Lakes, got their album and love it. Hard to describe, but it's sort of a mix of 70's folk rock and Pixies esque indie stuff, sung by a bloke in falsetto and a woman who sounds like the woman who sung the Twin Peaks theme. So does anyone know if there's any chance of them playing? Are they any good live?

Probably slow on the uptake but I've only just discovered Crocodiles. They sound a bit like JAMC MBV era stuff and would be excellent live I reckon

Oh and Dark Dark Dark in a Feist/Tunng type way

I was going through the BBC reviews and there was an album called Everyone I Ever Met, debut album by a band called Spokes, really enjoyed it, had elements of Arcade Fire and Doves in it, very well done, may draw a lot from such bands but for a debut to pave their way in, it's pretty good.

Also enjoyed the Little Comets album.

The Crookes and If The Kids.

I'm not a massive fan of all of Crookes stuff, but like some of it, and would be interested to see them live. If The Kids seem a very good band, hopefully dance stages.

Really enjoying the Bombay Bicycle Club these days, was very slow on the uptake.

In terms of this I would recommend The Antlers and Frightened Rabbit. If youve not heard either then they might just change your life.

The Besnard Lakes are the best band I got into last year - still need to listen to their debut but the 2nd/3rd ones are outstanding.  Ended up seeing them twice in Shoreditch within a month in March/April and again in August I think.  They are superb live and would be a fantastic addition to the lineup.

Well worth seeing live. Thought they sounded similar to The Strokes when performing live.

Rebecca Black. I recommend you listen to her. She has intellectual lyrics that stir your mind. Plus she has 13 year old friends that know how to drive a car, that's how badass she is.
