and then somebody puts it on the website in 10 minutes

efestivals gets the lineup at 9am on the day. I imagine the sponsors and ticket sales got it at the start of the week at the earliest, I wouldn't be surprised if nme has had the line up for a month or so now

Neil doesn't, he was complaining about it last year that they send it later to him than they said they would.

Didn't something like this happen at TITP where Metallica (maybe another metal band?) popped up onto the site last year and it was just one of the guys in the office playing around?

maybe last year it was a bit later(although im sure it was around dinner max) but ive been coming on here since 04 or 05 and around 9am we get the

"efestivals has received the lineup and can no longer discuss it until 7pm"

But the point still stands, I bet the ticket sales have the lineup and I bet the sponsors have had it for a month or so now.

Questioning MCR as a headliner is understandable, I guess. But saying that The Strokes aren't big enough to headline? Really?

The lineup is known by NME for certain. They had the headliner interview for lattitude with Mevlin on their site this part of the same interview he talks about reading headliners.

Not really as the sponsors would only be told at the same time as the press (which Efestivals is) and they have no input to festival.

thing is vodafone accidentally leaked kasabian were playing IOW before they were meant to be announced... it could be plausible because vodafone have been proven to be idiots in these situations...

You mean the interview after the announcement was made?

Punktastic are normally pretty good but they have been off the last couple of years though.

Punktastic was never really good. They used to say "we believe x are playing" about 100 times a year so when they got 10 right everybody though they was in the know. They are about as reliable as VF

Is it really that hard to have the code for the page already written and then just drop a picture into it when it arrives on the day. I don't think so.

Hell I write my reports at work before all of the results are found out and then just drop them in when I've finished the testing.

....and even if Efestivals does get it on the day I'm quite sure that everybody else will get it around the same time.
