I second that motion, I see they are headlining Latitude and have space in their schedule.
Fingers crossed.

Aren't they exclusive to Latitude?

Why not? I know they played, I think, 08 and 10, but they have hit new heights of popularity even in the last 12 months and are fast on their way of becoming Glasto legends. Would love them on the Sunday sunset slot (even though they're not 'legends'), or headlining the Sunday on Other. What an awesome way to finish the weekend.

Surely Latitude could not command someone like the National as a UK exclusive? I don't really know that's just wishful thinking.

It's mentioned by Scottie on the Latitude thread. On the plus side it means no Paolo Nutini....

love the band and was really looking forward to them last year but there was something missing from their performance. Dunno what it was, maybe I was just in the wrong frame of mind. They are much better suited indoors maybe.

Lead singer is a tit too!

Would love them to play this year but can't see it.  Only place for them would be a slightly higher slot on The Other stage.  I think it's unlikely.

Love that new tune though...!

I loved them last year. I was worried they wouldn't suit such a big outdoor space but was very happily proved wrong.

And Matt is not a tit, he's an amazing frontman.

glad you enjoyed it. It didnt match up to previous gigs for me, sadly. Good to see they have got the latitude headline slot though, they deserve it.

And I'm sorry but the frontman remains a tit. His onstage banter is terrible, and his antics onstage last year were a little cringeworthy.

Great band though!

Some truth to this as I think they demand a more intimate setting to be at their best due to the nature of the music. Lots of the songs are not big tunes but are emotional which connect much better in smaller venues with the exception of maybe Mr November. I think for it to work outdoors they need a late night slot to create the right kind of atmosphere.

Although it is really only Russycarps criticising their '10 performance. Which he is free to do if it didn't quite work for him... tastes are personal and everything. But he is a pretty grumpy git about most things

Pretty much this. I think that's why it didnt work for me last year at glastonbury. It was totally the wrong time of day for them to be on the Other stage.

They will be much better in the headline slot at latitude I am sure.

Not sure how you can describe somebody who writes the lyrics Matt does as a tit.  A somewhat awkward dork who possibly drinks too much wine on stage to dull the still apparent stage fright yes, but tit no.

I love them, they're my current favourite band at the moment by far but they've been touring High Violet for over a year now and they're beginning to look and sound knackered.  Still excited to see them at Primavera but no way they're going to do Glastonbury a second year on the bounce especially if they're tied into a Festival Republic exclusive.  And the random Edinburgh date would certainly seem to suggest they're going to do Reading/Leeds.

Agree with almost all of this. Probably the only band I've listened to over and over again for years and never come close of getting tired of.

But they looked a little tired at Brixton in November, and I can only imagine it is getting worse (the reviews would suggest otherwise thankfully  :P )

I love the band, have done since the first album. And I've seen them a fair few times live.

Sadly, his onstage antics and "banter" put him firmly in the "tit" category for me. Fantastic lyrics or not.

A couple of glasses of wine is no excuse!
