Wicket Ground is STILL 'family only' camping.

You utter shits.

Looks like there's camping in Holts this year. May have to return there, wasn't keen on our spot last year. Too much security about.

There is reduced camping space in the family field (Cockmill Meadow)

Family camping was crammed last year and now they're making it smaller? Why?
I wouldn't mind but the only thing "family" about it was the name.

Wicket ground was half empty for the entire festival last year...with everywhere around it crammed. Maybe since Cockmill is besides the kids field, they should open up more psace there and let the masses back into wicket ground!...

Holts camping was there last year, that's where we were. Hopefully get in there again this year

Whilst the GlastoEarth 2011 map is still in progress, here's a few comments:

- The schematic map produced by the festival is a 'best approximation'. Some stuff doesn't work out, some stuff changes, and some is just 'last known information'. The site is fiddled around with right up until the last minute. There's a very long standing member of the festival team who tries to keep up with the blizzard of changes. I trail behind, or ahead if I'm doing well that day.

More specifically:

- The QH move was nailed on about three weeks ago, as was Leftfield repatriation to it's old turf. No reason (for me) to think otherwise at this stage, but everything is changeable. As for The Leftfield Tower, it has four one-ton concrete blocks buried, as mounts. I don't expect them to be moved. So no move for the Tower either.

- Arcadia/Common swap. There were various options considered, including moving Arcadia out into a more central place. What you now see on the map is correct, as is the rest of the late area.

- Gate 1: No move. The only discrepancy, kind of, is that there's a chunk up there which is reservoirs which were outside the fence last year. So the fenceline is possibly wrong.

- Dragon: The map reflects 2010. The bottom was fenced, the top still public.

- Cockmill Recycling: There's been a slight overspill from the Green Barn for a few years now. I don't know if this has been 'overdrawn' or is genuinely expanding.

Overall, this is an approximation. But, accuracy notwithstanding, 2011 here we come. :)

Now that would please me enormously on a selfish basis at least. Having a field that good half empty is criminal.

Glad to see Arcadia has been moved to somewhere bigger...any idea what the capacity was in the old bit > the new area?

Couple of our group dropped bombs of some really strong MDMA last year for Arcadia then couldn't get in...the sight of them gurning away but really pissed off coz they couldn't get in being led down a "one way system" away from it wasn't too funny!

think we stayed in the Dance Field last year, although, i'm pretty sure it was called Oxylers last year.. it had lockups, toilets and security nearby so it felt quite safe, quite tempted to just go up to the bottom of park now.

There is so many Crew camping areas that its really something you would have to take up with the people who recruited you but I know that some Security and stewards were camping next to the WBC crew area - look at map - near Gate D Number 4 { middle left } - the area called Paines Ground is a Crew only area  so while it appears there is tracks { in pink } going though it - these tracks are blocked off .

This may or may not be where your camping - you may end up camping outside { as lots of crews have camps outside the wall } - its really something that is best to double check.

Note the map will be revised many times but all the main stuff will not change.
