I think alot of the article focussed on responses on facebook/twitter/tinterweb in general, with the rest padded out with opinion, some of which is a bit daft.
Also, sorry to get all trivial pursuits, but this will be coldplays 5th glasto, not 3rd.
Is it really news? If what makes the papers these days is "what I read on facebook last night" we live in troubled times indeed.

Coldplay and U2 while being decent bands who will undoubtedly perform good if not brilliant sets they are very similar and I feel it would be better if they weren't on the same year so as to give more "diversity" in the headliners.
Pretty much my sentiments. The headliners this year are slightly underwhelming and fairly mainstream, but you don't need to write endless drivel to say so.

Damn... now I feel foolish. Should have thought of that. Not a fan so I never realised that she had an accent on that final e. Open mouth insert foot, etc.

BlackHole2006, on 07 March 2011 - 09:51 PM, said:As I was saying to a mate of mine the other day, what other festival has stages specifically for Jazz and World Music, Folk Music, Acoustic and Americana and stages for ALL genres across the dance music spectrum? None. That's why Glastonbury wins hands down for me. Even if the line ups on the mainstages are predictable, at least there is still a great deal of musical diversity to be had.
The journalist who wrote this article has no idea what he's talking about.
Agree with all that, but even just comparing Main Stages, in the last 3 years alone Glastonbury has had Jay-Z, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Gorillaz, Stevie Wonder, Leonard Cohen, Spinal Tap, Nick Cave, Manu Chao, Rolf Harris, Slash, Faithless, Madness, Tom Jones, The Specials, Fleet Foxes, Goldfrapp, Status Quo, Amadou and Miriam, Seasick Steve etc etc. None of the other big fests Main Stage can get near that for variety

"you don't get any more anglo-saxon-rock than coldplay", maybe true
But you don't get further away from anglo-saxon-rock than Beyonce, a black-american RnB female solo artist. Idiot
