Resale success?

Me and a few pals didn't manage to get tickets this year so we're piling all our hopes onto getting tickets in the resale, even though we've read that there have apparently been very few cancellations so far. Has anyone else had to rely on the resale and managed to successfully get tickets? Do you have any particular tips for us resale virgins?

A few years ago there was a additional secret resale so i reckon its worth checking seetickets all the time just in case.

It's an excellent way of getting a heads up for any surprise resales suddenly happening. My friend used webmon and it worked a treat. Of course, they will be greatly out numbered by the people who do pay the balance, but I think that in the end (whatever Mr Eavis is saying at the moment) they'll be more tickets resold this year than in any previous year. So I would say keep the faith and you may be joining us lucky enough to have already got one - I wish you luck.

?? Isn't this the third year this system has been in operation? That aside, I agree that there will be plenty of tickets that don't get taken up when the final balance is due

should be a fair few tickets not paid for in full --lack of money, cant get time off etc - id suspect there were a few dupicate orders as always which will be cancelled and in the resale..
and as others said best to keep checking back, last year there were a few times when the order page was active and there were a batch of tickets avaliable to purchase

So you've got the whole ticket buyer community that still have the option to back out if they want to. In previous years it was only those that opted for the deposit in the first place. My other pedant's theory is that higher levels of capricious purchase was also evidenced by (it seemed to me) more moaning about unfair ticket allocation when selling - again, more people went for one lightly, and therefore more of the hardcore were muscled out.?? Isn't this the third year this system has been in operation? That aside, I agree that there will be plenty of tickets that don't get taken up when the final balance is due
What other event would people spend time thinking about such nutty things, eh?

i managed to get tickets in the re-sale last year no problem, alot of people were successful (well people who were posting on these boards at the time) it was a little too easy to what i was expecting but i guess i could have just been lucky...
the chances are the same i guess as u2 hadent pulled out at the time of last years re-sale... depends on how many go on sale, i dont think theres ever been official numbers released?
also the year after the wet year (the really wet year) the tickets had problems selling, i dont know if itl make a difference the opposite way, but if i was you i'd hope not...

I think it was actually the page to let international bookings pay their balance off as opposed to a page allowing for new bookings - I got an email saying their had been a change in the page and was straight on there...... wouldn't acknowledge any new bookings however.

I'm going to be keeping a close eye on the order page - I know the official line is resale in mid April after UK balances have been given a chance to be paid up - but I can't help thinking a few of the ticket sales that fell through in the international sales might become available before then...

Really? There were 3 of us seperately messing about with it but when adding our reference details it wouldn't take us any further. Could have done with a few tips at the time. Would have been handy if you could have posted something at the time.
