Aren't the headliners meant to be exclusive to Leeds/Reading? and MCR are at TITP so how does that work?

Could you be kind enough to point me in the right direction, Sir?
The subject has been raised a number of times over the past week, so much so that an FAQ was created to stop the board being bombarded with the same questions over and over.
You can find it here: http://www.efestival...howtopic=157584
Hopefully this is more polite than yellow_fellow's reply but I understand his frustration.

If MCR do end up headlining (again I hope not) I would LOVE The National/Stephen Fretwell/Bright Eyes to be playing elsewhere.

Arcade Fire were very much on the way up and much more critically acclaimed. MCR aren't. I'm all for new headliners but MCR are very, very meh.
Also you can dress up any excuse you like but there's no denying that the fact R/L's headliner is just an also ran at another festival is very disappointing.

I hope this info hasnt changed since my source last got told. I am looking forward to all the headliners. Even though offspring will be a tough choice if they are headlining nme stage.
are you saying there is possibility the headliners could still change?

Also disagree with the idea that bands cant headline festivals after 2 albums. I think you have to judge it on a case by case basis. Nobody could surely claim oasis or coldplay didnt deserve to headline uk festivals after 2 albums.
Could be wrong but I believe Travis were on their 3rd Album when they headlined.

Yep and it is 2011 and they are booked to play somewhere in Europe August 31st. There is even a thread about it.

I would disagree with you, I'd say Razorlight and Franz were more popular at the time than MCR are now and Travis were massive at the time they headlined. The Darkness were perhaps a flash in the pan but they were the biggest act in Britain at the time.

I think the MCR/Razorlight/Franz comparison is a fair one as the whole indie/rock/punk scene is not as commercial now as it was a few years back. MCR are one of the few rock bands who actually feature on the playlist of (dare I say it) Radio 1 at the moment.

The Darkness were the biggest act the year before/at the time they were booked but otherwise I agree.

I am just saying that it was the info given when my source got told.
Things can always change but he has been right every year since 2003, apart from the libertines and arcade fire positioning mix up.

Yeah, by the time oif the festival in 03 they were huge and were bumped up due to Jay Z pulling out, when they were announced to headline in 04 they were still massive but with no new material released people just got bored of them. I went to see 2 Many DJs when they were on.
