my first year for the weekend, everyones been saying yellow is best due to its closeness to arena and its atmosphere, anyone agree/disagree?!

Yellow/White both close to arena with good atmosphere -packed out, very little room
Red/Blue pratically in the same part, their pretty close, but still good for atmosphere, a little more room than yelow and white
Orange, huge hill to camp on, still good atmosphere but alot of familys camp there aswell..
Green - quite far away, get alot of room, and no twats wanting to kill you every 5 minutes, atmosphere is good, depending who your with, and around but a long walk to the arena
Brown - loads of room, not much atmosphere, but all of room to do what you want

We stayed in purple last year, was our first time!
Would highly reccomend it, get a good mix of space and atmosphere, its a short walk to the arena and the silent disco is right by it, and it didn't get bogged as bad as yellow and green. We had loads of us there and it was awesome!

White's my personal favourite. Close to the arena and fairly calm.

We always stay in brown, it's not as hectic as I imagine other campsites to be but we always have a laugh. It's closer to the car park than it is to the arena but that suits us. We made friends with the group camping next to us in 09 so we now go back to the same spot so we can camp together again, it gives us something else to look forward to

My first year was last year (Leeds) and we stayed in red and we stayed literally right next to the entrance to where you walk in and you have relentless tent/football/toilets and so a small walk to arena, we got there wednesday (early bird) yet it was still packed and so our spots were right on the edge of the track (have to leave a gap in the middle of path for vehicles) was good however only problem is everyone has to walk past your tent to go out and in and its close to all passers by, luckily didn't happen to my tent but few of my friends had theirs knocked down by drunks throwing each other into tents, which was the only downside other than that - great
We walked to other campsites but from what I remember part of orange did have a few fair rides so was quite noisey.

depends on how you want to spend your weekend, if you wanna go wild and be packed out and be very near to the arena go to yellow/green, iwent to purple last year and red the year before. both are relatively near to the arena and aren't as wild but still have a good atmousphere

If you're going to Reading, you can't go wrong with Orange. Have had no problems there, and close enough to the arena for it to still be convenient without the droves of w*nkers you get in Green and Yellow (Don't go either of them)
I walked through Purple last year and it seemed good too, quieter than Orange but still not completely dead.
I'd also like to point out that Orange was by far the least flooded last year

I've been for the last 3 years and camped in purple every time. It's pretty close to everything and has a pretty nice atmosphere imo, fun without being too much '6-can rowdy kids'. Good balance I'd say. Brown is good too and I guess red is similar?
Everyone I've spoken to thats stayed in green says its the worst and full of arseholes and I imagine that yellow is pretty much the same

Ive camped every year bar one at leeds in the valley - Dont know what colour it is now but it used to be yellow valley. Down at the bottom of the hill.
Cracking atmosphere, music on until 3am from the campsite djs and close to the arena/ burger stalls.
Yellow bubble is too much for me and I had one year in red and didnt like it. A lot of dicks in Red, the campsite next to us destroyed all their tents by the Thursday night.

Id say red for you. Red is crazy but you get a tiny bit more room than the other 2. The campsite next to the arena is tent to tent with no room for a chill out area. In red you can give yourself this space without getting a tent in the middle of it.

For the last vtwo years at Leeds we've camped in Blue. It's fairly busy, quite near the arena but also not far from all the afterhours stuff, plenty of food places and toilets near by. The best piece of advice I can give you is get an early entry ticket when they're onsale. Not only does it mean you'll get an extra day of drinking, you'll also get your pick of the campsites. Arrive on the Thursday and most the best spots are taken.

I was in Green for my first year, then Yellow for the next two. This was at Reading, by the way. They're really not as bad as people make out - I haven't had any problems at all. They're a bit noisy I suppose, but never to the point of being an issue.
Last year I was right next to the main path in yellow, about 20-30 meters from the village, and it was pretty much perfect. No trouble with anyone, literally two minutes away from the arena entrance, not too close to the toilets and water but not too far away... the ideal camping spot, really.

That said it's been the river side of Green, reasonably close to Red rather than the Orange side. It's great if you've got a decent group, partly because back at the tent you can still hear the main stage so very useful for those days where you've got no real enthusiasm to get to the arena. It's all much less hectic and packed than Yellow so it's great for nipping back to grab a drink as it's not tha far away.Everyone I've spoken to thats stayed in green says its the worst and full of arseholes and I imagine that yellow is pretty much the same
In 2008 we had a little problem with fires and that reasonably close to us on the last night, but the clampdown in 2009 and the poor weather last year pretty much nullified that.

It all depends if you enjoy hearing Green Army every few minutes
