They were being mentioned a while back, but the speculation seemed to just fade away.
They're already doing Bestival, V and Glastonbury, but would this make them more or less likely for reading?
Personally I'd love to see them headlining the NME.
Thoughts?

Playing V does make them very unlikely for R&L, the only way round it is that they're playing Screamadelica at V so R&L would have to be a normal set.

Wouldn't they have to play around with their name if they wanted play both? Like Metallica & Notallica, Kasabian & K*S*B*N (or however it was spelt) and Renegades/Feeder (I think that was between Soni & Vfest).

It's got nothing to do with Bestival or Glasto, the same bands don't play V and R&L because of the direct competition.
If a band were committed to playing a different set or a live set at one and a dj set at another then it would reduce the possibility of the two festivals in direct competition putting on the same act. Unlikely, but it's the only way I could see Primal Scream playing R&L.

As jump says they could also be billed using a pseudonym or as 'special guests' and only revealed once V has sold out or been held, but that doesn't happen very often.

Bands that play V do not play Reading. There's an exclusivity agreement (not to play Reading) when bands are booked for V.

Hmm...just noticed the Vfest poster has Primal Scream Screamadelica and not Primal Scream.

Festivals have to share bands to some extent ,there just are not enough touring bands , that would
put bums on seats to go round.
But V and Reading/Leeds would not share !!
Take turns yes , share no !

And for the 3rd time, Kasabian played both as they were on the poster with slightly altered spelling.

It's also worth noting Kasabian weren't established at the time and they are the only instance of it happening in about 10 years. They played the FR (Carling at the time) stage at R/L and opened the second stage at V.

You're forgetting the most obvious one of Goldie Lookin Chain playing main stage at both and it's happened more than once in the last 10 years.
As I've said doubtfull but not as impossible as 1st thought.

I mentioned it earlier in this thread, advertising a band as playing a specific set/album or as a DJ set is one way round it. Unlikely though.
