Are you saying you think that MCR are popular but not popular enough to be considered strong headliners, and would need a decent alternative on the other stages to satisfy festival goers who would otherwise be baying for blood?

MCR/The Prodigy/30STM would be hugely dissapointing but there will most likely be something else on that I want to see, so I wont get too upset about it. I do like the Prodigy but they seriously need a break. For me, when a band tours so much and does so many festivals it always decreases the excitement around seeing them play.

Beastie Boys!! Only subbing though, I'm sure they would headline. If they are on the line-up it will make me buy a ticket.

The fans, no. People listen to what they want. Jared, yes. Self indulgent tosspot.

Pretty much what I'm saying. Either way there's four stages, plenty of variety for all. Just hope they end up subbing for someone else.
If I'm honest, a fair few of the older MCR songs aren't bad, and they remind me of being a young 'un in simpler times. However, their most recent album is one of the worst things I've heard in a long time.

Jared Leto never seems to me to be a serious musician, just an actor portraying a musician. The whole of This Is War just seems to be a big heap of trying to make an epic U2 sound. I love Closer to the Edge and 100 Suns, but that's the only stuff on the album that actually has any proper emotion in it, the rest is just Jared testing his vocal range against the other two trying to outdo each other. Doesn't really seem like a band to me, just an actor's side-project while he tries to pick up some more fans to follow him into his films.

Captain Frogarm Likes this.
30stm are an embarrassing pretend band championed by radio 1. They can go and play V festival.

There is no doubting how bigf 30STM are, no matter why they're big. I just hope they don't pplay ttye fest.

if beastie boys were to play, i'm quite sure they would headline and get the 2 hour slot. They'd be the Legend booking also.. seeing as we don't really have a legend booking if the headliners were MCR, Strokes, Muse

could beastie boys really headline?
they headlined the first connect festival and that only sold about a third of the tickets.

Thats because the awards are fan nominated.

I don't think Beastie Boys could headline, definetely sub though. I still can't tell if MCR would be any good after watching their "Live in Mexico" videos on youtube.
