this thread should come in handy, need a new tent this year after mine finally gave way and split after 5 festivals!...not bad for a tesco value one! although it did leak a little in 2009 and at IOW 2010! but i'm looking for something a bit better quality and something that will hopefully last, but don't want to pay over the odds, any suggestions are welcome!

All I really need for this year is a rucksack. My budget's tighter than a nun on a Sunday though, so I'm really just in the hunt for a bargain. What do any of you camping boffins think of this? 90 litres seems plenty.

Messy - if you can i'd definitely go for something with more support than that, at 90 litres it's going to way an absolute ton when full.

if you don't want to spend all your fun budget on massages i'd recommend looking for something with at least a waist band - very little of the weight should be on your shoulders if you can get one to fit right. The Aldi/Lidl ones mentioned above seem to do people fairly well and at less than that. If no, i think argos do a read one for under £30 that i saw several thousand of on the wednesday last year :-)

Have a shot at begging for a rucksack on Freecycle/Freegle. I reckon there's loads of them gathering dust in people's cupboards.

There seem to be some decent enough 2nd hand rucksacks on eBay, which look like they'll end up at less than £20 including postage.
