They've also been announced for a festival in Germany (Highfield) the weekend before Reading along with 30 seconds to Mars, Dropkick Murphys and Interpol...so I think its probably safe to say that all 4 of them will be at Reading & Leeds

The National would be great at Leeds, but I worry if they got a slot say early on the the main stage it would be such a waste, I think you need them in the dark in a tent, for the atmospheric moments if nothing else. I'd say they are now big enough to easily headline the NME tent, as someone has previously said you don't sell out 3 dates at Brixton without good reason. How far they've come since I saw them play The Leadmill a few years ago in front of 700 people.
