Brilliant at Glasto last year despite an early slot on Other Stage.

Would be fabe to get em to Leeds , still a bit unknown to a lot of people , but then a lot of#
people love em !

Probably, they're one of those type of band that will fit late NME tent well.

This is brilliant news. Really hope they play, or come down to London.

They were brilliant at Glastonbury and I'd love to see them play Leeds.

When I saw the thread title I was going to come in and say 'no chance.' But that date does look promising in terms of them appearing. Headlining NME opposite either Muse or MCR would be fantastic.

Are they as popular enough? I know their last album was very good - charted well, made top ten lists etc - but are they as big as Mumford were when they played third last year (genuine question)?

Not bigger than Mumford, but I'd say bigger than Phoenix and maybe even bigger than LCD and they both played higher up NME than Mumford that day don't forget. High Violet did chart at number 5 and sold reasonably well and they've been around for a while.

I'd love it if they played.

But remember that Mumford were booked a long time before they became so massive. Yes, they were big but I don't think anyone was expecting them to have such success with the mainstream music crowd.

They sold out three nights at Brixton last December in less than a day.  Don't know how that compares to Mumford.  Just adding my tuppenceworth.  High Violet has taken them into the mainstream but anybody who likes it should really listen to Boxer & Alligator which most longtime fans seem to reckon are better.

Ya Boxer is a great album, I would certainly recommend it.

Edit: Just saw they were SR (as mentioned) that's great news

I'm very glad they didn't get 'best breakthrough' at the BRIT awards. That would have been insulting to them considering they've been around for so long.

Definitely big enough to headline NME, and hoping that's where they end up.
