that this is supposedly the lineup that will be released by a semi reliable resource, he got it pretty much 80% right last year so who knows

Main stage
Friday:
Muse
The Prodigy
The Streets
Elbow
Enter Shikari
Funeral for a friend
The Blackout

NME:
Florence + The Machine
The xx
Temper Trap
Bombay Bicycle Club
Pete Doherty
Ellie Goulding

Main Stage
Saturday:
The Strokes
Pulp
Vampire Weekend
MGMT
Jamie T
Foals
The Wombats

NME:
30 seconds to mars
You me at six
All time low
Kids in Glasshouses
Frank Turner
A day to Remember

Sunday:
Main stage:
My Chemical Romance
Bloc Party
Lostprophets
Panic! at the disco
Sum 41
Good Charlotte
Boys Like Girls

NME:
The Maccabees
Friendly Fires
The Kooks
Two Door Cinema Club
Beady Eye
The Vaccines

Would be pretty impressed if something like that was announced.
All though there are some major placing issues there, The Kooks wouldn't play that far down, neither would Beady eye.
Panic! would be lower and The Wombats would play 5th/4th from top?

It would be Enter Shikari's third R+L in a row.

V fest announcement is tomorrow? Wonderful that should give some clues. Isn't there something between R/L and V that the higher slots can't play both?

Hoping for Primal Scream

I wouldn't even say it's higher slots, you very rarely get a band that plays both due to then being so close together even for bands on the FR stage.

Doesnt happen at all. Only maybe the new bands stages.

I can only think of about 5 or 6 bands that have played both since I started coming to leeds in 03

I would have pictured them more at Glastonbury than V Festival.

Frank's at Download & Sum 41 are at Sonisphere. As bands playing those festivals usually don't play Reading. I'd count them out.

Faith No More & Bullet For My Valentine have played Download & R&L in the same year and Pendulum & Sick Of It All have played Soni & R&L the same year too.

Probably more but I can't be bothered looking but it's more to do with Reading doesn't like over booking big/heavy bands from other fests than exclusiveness between them and I doubt Sum 41 would be booked anymore for R&L but Frank Turner could still be on NME.

I wouldn't yet. Wasn't it 09 that Reading had 2 download headliners on the nme?

They had Lost Prophets & Faith No More that year, only Faith No More played Download that year and Lost Prophets headlined Download the year before.

Lost Prophets weren't even an exlcuive headliner for them that year either and played Vfest afew months later.

... where on Earth did you get that from? Undercards from those two usually get shared.

Bands who are at Download generally tend to play Reading more than acts who are at Sonisphere - Pendulum were announced as special guests at Sonisphere long after they were announced on the Reading bill, Gallows were obviously booked as some sort of exclusive act for Sonisphere hence why they had to play under 'The Rats' name at Reading..obviously there is only a month (altho its longer this year) between Sonisphere & Reading....with V & Reading acts - they have it written in their contracts or something that they can't play the other festival as they don't really like each other...there have been one or two exceptions - Goldie Lookin Chain & Kasabian spring to mind but Kasabian had to be written as K*S*B*N or something along those lines on the Reading/Leeds Bill...

There's no difference, Gallows were called Rats so they could play (they just like playing gigs) a non headlining show in the Lock Up  and have a lesser crowd they were also at other fests like Heavy & Tramlines under their name and Sick Of It All as I've alreadly pointed out had no problems.

Liam Galagher's too much of an egomanical knobend to play that low. He'd demand a semi-high mainstage, or a headlining NME.
