I actually know nothing about this fella but thought I'd look him up on account of him being on the rumours day tbc page - didn't even bother listening (lazy I know but I've got a cracking Lemonheads playlist on the go) - and I noticed he lists himself for the 24th June at Glasto on his tour dates. Just a prod for a minor update on the rumours page really. I can't really believed I've bothered...

I googled Bob Smith and it came up with Robert Smith (Musician). So I began reading the intro:
Robert James Smith (born 21 April 1959) is an English guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. He is the lead singer and principal songwriter of the rock band The Cure, and its only constant member since its founding in 1976.
Different one I think to the one I had in mind.

As ridiculous as it sounds now, I was looking him up hoping that somehow no-one had noticed that "Proper" Bob Smith was playing a little solo set! Somehow my head was actually allowing me to believe this was possible.

I too was vainly hoping that it was good old fat Bob.
Maybe he should take a hint, there's obviously a lot of us clutching at that particular straw
