So with all the talk around the main stage headliners, do we have any real idea's of who will be headlining/playing on the NME stage as we havn't got any rumours apart from the 4 bands that played the shockwaves NME tour.
Thoughts?

I would say white lies are a good shot with their second album having done pretty well. They are the type of band who could be 4th headliners on the mainstage also.

I reckon Florence and the Machine will be one of them. Wouldn't surprise me if Mumford and Sons headline this year too.
I'd like Vampire Weekend also.

I cant see it being florence and the machine, they are too popular. I cant think of a single band who have headlined the tent who have sold as many records in the couple of years preceeding as florence.

Crystal Castles would be a band I'd put down as potential headliners.

I would love someone like the Offspring, No Doubt, Iggy and the Stooges & Soundgarden in there headlining. I can't see it happening though.
I can see
Plan B
The Enemy
The Subways
The XX
Pigeon Detectives
Manchester Orchestra
The King Blues
Dinosaur Pile up
Pulled Apart By Horses
Mona
Chapel Club
Brian Fallon(gaslight anthem) & Chuck Ragan
Detroit Social Club
Chase & Status
General Fiasco
Funeral Party
A lot of those above, a few that could go on the main stage. Amongst others

Funeral Party will definitely be there mid-afternoon.

Offspring could headline but I would say jimmy eat world may be a bit borderline. I would say similar size bands have second headlined that tent in recent years. I would say jew are more likely to headline the lock up.

White Lies are offensively dull.

Yeah they are being pushed quite heavily by Radio 1 - them and The Vaccines. NME tent will have a semi-legendary band on there at some point, like Faith No More, but the other couple of days will be aimed at the type of chavs that actually listen to Radio 1 for a band like Pendulum. I'm not being closed-minded - Pendulum have a large crossover appeal - I'm just saying that a band like that gives the chavs and arseholes a place to go when the main stage, Lock Up and Festival Republic stages all have Rock bands on them, hence my suggestion for Crystal Castles, maybe even somebody like Tinie Tempah or Dizzie Rascal.

Potential headliners:
Death From Above 1979
Vampire Weekend
MGMT
White Lies
Chase & Status
Feeder
Editors
Interpol
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Brand New
The Offspring
Jimmy Eat World
I'd guess at 2 of these.

I personally would love it. Whether they headline or not I think they will be on the bill somewhere this year.

Surely Dizzee is far to big to headline the nme?! he must have had 30,000/40,000 watching him at mainstage! As for Tinie, i doubt he would play Leeds, surely he is more of the V fest type?
